Thoughts on General Election

Everyone here is educated, works decent jobs and pays taxes. I want to know your thoughts on upcoming general election, who are you going to vote? what do you expect will be the result? Do you think there is a level playing field for all the parties? Please give a general overview as well as local overview of your state/constituency.

Ps: please be civil and avoid distasteful language.

Not voting at all. Why?

  1. The wide majority of Indians are uneducated, poor, and do not share the same priorities as me. So my vote is numerically useless.
  2. When every single party is stealing my tax money through corruption, why should I vote? And please don't tell me to choose the "lesser" evil. I don't have to choose between rapists, murderers or at the very least frauds and thieves. Nobody meets the minimum bar of at least being a decent human being.
  3. As a middle class tax payer, I am being milked by every govt. The rich get subsidies, govt favors, can simply generate a lot of black money and get richer. The poor get subsidies because they form a large majority of votes in India. The small percentage of us called the middle class have no political power, and will keep paying higher and higher taxes to run this country.
  4. The party that can outspend everyone else by a large margin wins the election anyway. This is true everywhere in the world, and in India as well.

You think we have a choice? Because of your one vote? Yeah right, enjoy the shan that is modern democracy 😂

I totally resonate with your points. If I may, are you looking at going out of this country and settling there? If yes, what country are you looking at?

Yes, probably a tax free country in the Middle East. The amount of taxes that I pay today, will simply cover for the additional expenses there.

I think its time to bring down Modiji to ground . An NDA coalition with BJP less than 250 is reality and good for next 5 years. South has been significantly neglected in last 10 years and having needing allies from south will keep BJP on toes.
I would vote for non-BJP party . We can build more bridges and roads again once we stay together as a nation peacefully.

@VolTa_musk Wait, hold up...Non-BJP parties will hold up peace? Man, you really are living in your own fantasies

@Bharatiya @VolTa_musk i think everyone behaves the same way in power. And thats why no one should have that much power. Having said that, i believe non-BJP parties will definitely hold up peace better than BJP. Atleast they dont have horrific things like “ethnic cleansing” on their agenda like BJP has. So yeah, i give that to non-BJP parties.

  1. I'll vote based on who has done work. I am still voting for the local MP to be here than who sits at the centre.
  2. I don't think there's a level playing field for all patties, BJP definitely is at an advantage. But it's fine, I don't know why they are so insecure though, they are gonna win without even playing dirty

BJP is so insecure because they dont only want to win.. they want to get 2/3rd majority so that they can pass any law they can.

[Rant] We lack accountability in almost everything

I am fed up here as I don't see accountability anywhere. There was a Telugu Movie starring Mahesh Babu where he being CM says, in foreign, people are responsible and accountable and they made their lives beautiful. How amazing, right? ...

We can achieve that in single tenure if every minister/politician has a master's degree or a PhD
