Thoughts on GrowthX

Whenever I read a growthX article it's always hype n hype. I logged into their website and it seems like a complicated process just to buy upskilling membership or course to become a top 1% leader.

Has anyone gone through with it. Is it worth it?

Waste of time.

It will make you feel that u cut through thousands of application to be there so that you feel achieved and indebted to pay them 70k for some waste zoom classes.

Same with this GGI

Making fool out of people wanting to upskill

I have done both. Got lucky that both were reimbursed by orgs (I did reforge first in my prev company).

Now reforge is great, but I could not really apply the learnings. Like basically it felt like a great YT video which is full of insights but it's not really applicable. I mean sure it works on Airbnb and Uber. But great content for sure. If you're only after content go for it.

Also, only I amongst 6 of my colleagues could finish it. I also finished it with a lot of effort. I think in that way GrowthX feels more like it's designed for you to apply. And it's not about content, it's about the overall experience feels like that. From like keeping videos on, to compulsory projects, I don't know, just way more actionable learnings.

Their curriculum is shit. You can get Reforge by paying slightly more.

The whole experience has been special.

  1. It has been learning at every step from peers and new business models.
  2. Pushing me outside my comfort zone.
  3. A realisation of how little I know and how much I can compound with the right approach

Building great friendships

  • Learning to build perserverance
  • Thinking out of the box and finding ways to make things work
  • The amount of depth I found - will surely help later in life

"It was a great learning experience. Full of challenges and loved staying up till 5 - 6 am. Its been a very long since I have worked this hard to get something alongside team members.

I made some good friends and now that the capstone is over, It will be a hard transition. A roller coaster of emotions along the way too.

Overall, loved it. And if given a chance again, will be happy to participate. Irrespective of if we win or not, it's a journey worth experiencing.

There were some hiccups here and there, but some guidance on how to sync was missing, but I suppose that's for us to figure out"

Among their members are a lot of leaders/founders that are very successful, how'd you think they fooled them?

Extroverts or Introverts, I think every person in a business team or who is dealing with business metrics should know that having a focused, curated network is not going to bring you down.

Is GrowthX worth it?

For some context, I'm an APM at a B2B SAAS company. Low salary 7Lpa with Wfh. The thing is my company has some products but it operates like a services firm and quite bad and slow as well. My efforts to change the operating processes are...
