[Thread] What are the best ChatGPT/Bard prompts that have replaced Google for you?

With the encouraging developments, I wanted to crowdsource the best use cases so that I can utilize it even better

For me:

  1. Personal: Using it for movies. My prompt is typically: What genre film I want, what are films in that genre I like, they should be produced after year 2005, and they should have a rotten tomatoes audience score above 85%. It works beautifully well. Some of the best movies I'd never discovered.

  2. Work: Building draft replies and being able to save them to Text Blaze. Stuff like "Not interested" or "Set up meeting" (which automatically includes my Calendly link etc.). Makes going past inbox very smooth.

Curious to hear from the rest of you :)

Recently had a big Google Sheets operation
Had basically a super huge list of companies and needed to assign the right industry to them

Was basically able to copy paste the entire list. ChatGPT did a 90% accurate job. Which meant for a ~1000 company list, I only really had to just correct maybe 50-100.

In the previous world I’d have to do a lot of manual efforts/rely on people/buy database

I use it to decide variable names. 😂

Also, it helps in refactoring the code. I do not like the idea of directly dumping all the requirements and getting a solution from it in the first go. If it is something that I already know and I have done it in the past then I ask it to generate the code for me.

But if it is something that I am doing for the first time and it involves critical thinking, I first do it on my own and then take ChatGPTs help to see if i can improve it further

That last point is very nice and true. It's crazy how much we're still underutilizing. If we just asked GPT to get on the same problem statements, it might pay off a lot for us!

Haha that's exactly what I use it for I remember we'd have to literally spend 15-20 mins to find a movie and it'd be pretty frustrating

It's now become much better :)

"Generate a creative story about [theme/characters]." "Write a poem about [topic]." "Compose a blog post on [subject]." "Craft a compelling introduction for an article on [topic]."

I've always felt it's slightly too basic when it comes to asking it to write something like a tweet. Any ways to make it more creative vs. normie?

Created a custom GPT for writing SEO optimize blogs.
It provides references as well.

@SS_Croaker do you mean writing blogs that serve as backlinks to support SEO growth? Or do you mean actual advice blogs on SEO?

“I am a person in my 20s who wants to get leaner and grow muscle, advise me all the nutrition, supplementation and exercise regimes as suggested by the top fitness trainers on the internet ”

^^Start with this basic one and then feel free to keep making it more specific by adding gender, weight, height, equipment available, etc etc

Interesting. Nothing risky with this?

I use perplexity AI as a replacement for google searches and is just perfect.

I mostly use bing chat. It does a good job of searching through internet, providing sophesticated summary and their references to go through.

Mostly my go to sites for techincals are stackoverflow and reddit, but prompting the copilot covers it.

It’s time saving and mostly accurate. Since it’s not GPT’s independent thinking (i.e made up responses), rather it’s using the words picked from the references.

Have you started using Chat GPT?

It could be for your work-related solutions or other stuff. It would be great to see how different people are using it.

I can start already, I have started using it to generate the product feature launch posts that I put across to infor...

ChatGPT (4) vs Bard

What's your experience with ChatGPT (GPT 4) and Bard? I couldn't make use of both ChatGPT and Bard properly.

Is it really worth paying for? I usually just end up asking some random questions and have conversations, or try to gather som...
