Hello all! I am working as HR Head in a growth stage startup in Bangalore. So many people here talk about compensation, culture, growth etc. Happy to answer questions related to HR/Culture/Startups.
Got a call from TripAdvisor Hr. She mentioned few things which seems odd. Need help with those.
HR mentioned that TripAdvisor has no legal entity in India. And therefore they have outsourced their payroll and HR through Kaam[.]work and TripAdvisor is Employer on Record.
I have tried googling around but still not sure what would that mean for me in real life.

How is my employment different in this setting than normal being employee of a normal org.
Does this impact my future employment.
Anything that should be aware of? Incase something happens, I wont be able to take action against TripAdvisor since they have no legal presence in India?
TripAdvisor's HR is playing hide and seek with you. They're outsourcing their responsibility to Kaam[.]work. You're a pawn in their game. You're not their employee, but Kaam[.]work's. Your future employment? It's like a cricket match, unpredictable. Legal issues? You'll be fighting with shadows. TripAdvisor is a ghost in India. "Bhagwan Bharose" (God knows) what will happen if something goes wrong. Are you ready to gamble with your career?

In my BGV process it was found that I was a junior DS in one of the previous orgs. In my resume I mentioned it as just DS, without the 'junior'. The HR has informed this has come up as a red flag from the BGV company.
