Want to be a Product Manager.

I am 8 YOE professional with 5 YOE as Project Manager.

Q1. What is the best certifications required to get into Product Management role?

Q2. What is the average salary in Pune for a Product Manager role with 8+ YOE?

Currently I am being Baid 12 LPA as Project Manager and want to increase my salary by at least 20 LPA.

Thank you for sharing, however I believe I am already handling most of the responsibilities which this post mentioned. I think, I should start look out for some IJP for product management role.

Product managers don’t need certifications, they need proof of work. Certifications are more relevant for product owners or project manager roles in big firms.

Try to build more proofs of work like product deconstructs or build something on the side using free / no code tools. You can ideate on any problem you think is worth solving. Try to scale users for the same. Use these as artefacts in your interviews.

Other option is to apply for entry level product roles in start ups and learn on the job. You might not get the required pay directly but it will set you up on a growth path in product and/or the industry which you can specialise in
