What are the jobs and companies that offer domestic ~1Cr packages for IIMA grads?

I've seen many placement statistics that report IIMA grads getting nearly a crore packages in domestic placements.

I'm curious about what these jobs are, and which companies offer these jobs.

Also, what is the profile of someone who gets such a job? Splendid Academics? Extracurriculars? Amazing work experience pre MBA?

Any insights would be much appreciated.

How are you so naive to assume that students 1 cr package. At max, their in hand will be around 36-40 LPA and are mostly for experienced professionals. Also, such packages are mostly given in consulting domain

Before pointing this out, go see the pre mba experience of batch and u ll get the reality as why IIMs have better placement records compared to other MBA colleges.

Year end bonuses can be 40-60 in that case in hand can go to 1 cr. In tech hfts pay that to undergraduate freshers in india. Can say for iims.

They're mostly going to be front-end IB or Private equity roles where the bonuses can easily be 100% of your fixed that brings you total to >1Cr They usually hire those with prior experience in finance (CA, previous work experience in finance etc) and you also need a strong academic background (toppers, gold medallists etc) Consulting is a close 2nd but they're definitely not paying as much as finance roles

BTW does JPMC and Goldman Sachs offer Investment Banking internships to 2nd year undergrads in India? Also, what are the chances of getting such an internship if you have a good resume and know a VP?

Usually in top MBA colleges (IIM BLACKI), Buldge bracket IBs offer the highest domestic package (50L fixed + upto 100% bonus), but you only have 3/4 such roles in campus and the top people don't want these roles because you don't have a life. I have heard stories of people taking 50% paycut within a year just to get out of IB roles. Also you shouldn't judge a college from the highest package offered. It's the median package number that counts. You can guarantee that you will be the one chosen.
