What's a scam that your company does?
You can mention current/ex company. Or don't mention. Just say the scam. Let the common things be known.
Heard marketing managers at few companies get cut from affiliates to run campaigns with them.
It goes like-
- 50-60 percent of funds raised goes into marketing. So lots of money involved
- You can’t do fraud on meta / google
- You can do fraud at other places. Like an affiliate advertising agency
- Marketing manager / head of marketing gets kickbacks from affiliates. Quantum of kickbacks is as high as 40-50 percent of spends.
Marketing managers have power to not clear the bill unless they get kickbacks. So they sometimes end up arm twisting the affiliates who want to do business in a clean way.
I hate to say this but an insider from this industry once told me that employees from some of the major unicorns are involved in this.
Was shocked in the beginning when I learnt about this. But then I made my peace with it. Everyone in this country is taught jugaad. This is jugaad for get rich quick (with fatal outcomes if caught)
