Why are Hyderabad folks so happy about their city?
Hey folks, an all new community for you to discuss all things HYD
Now for the question: Of all cities in India - Hyderabad people seem to speak the most highly of their city. Why is this?
The NPS (net promoter score) of Hyderabad seems to be way too high 🙌🏻
I stay in Mumbai. But after watching a few hyderbadi comedy videos. I have fallen in love with the language. Considering to migrate to Hyderabad in near future.
I've done the same but due to WFO call. I'm liking it here due to better traffic condition
just for my clarity, you saw some memes and now considering moving cities?
Great food irrukum - Biryani ka adds Endha diverse cultures irrukum diverse Languages irrukum Comparatively great infra irrukum And most importantly safest city.
Adida Hyderabad
Stayed north in Delhi/Gurgaon most of my life. Shifted to Hyd after my marriage in Feb this year.
Pros-
-
Very good societies with bearable rent unlike Bangalore and Mumbai. Eg. My house is 2bhk 1200sqft in a well known big society with all the luxurious amenities. Even in Gurgaon you won’t find such a society. Rent is about 40k.
-
People are quite nice and accepting to North Indians. No bias as such observed unlike the cases in Bangalore.
-
Very good infra in terms of roads and wide ass roads. Traffic keeps moving.
-
Good food choices but for a North Indian I still feel Delhi is better.
-
Weather wise also pretty good. Very hot only in April May. From July it’s a pleasant weather most of the time.
-
Most of the good companies are here. But not as much as Bangalore. It’s still picking up.
Cons-
1.Perosnally no college friends here.
2.Far from my hometown in MP
3. Less good North Indian food options
4. Less hangout places outside or nearby Hyd
Good list. I, a North Indian, have been in Hyderabad for 10+ yrs now. Your point 2 is just bang on, no other city could be as accepting as Hyderabad, specially Bangalore and Pune, comes nowhere near to it in that aspect. It is a truly cosmopolitan city. Even in terms of weather, it is far better than Delhi, I had been to Delhi recently and damn how it hot it was!! I think barring 2-3 months of March-May, weather is pretty good other months. The moment first rainfall happens in May-June, weather turns all nice thereafter.
True weather seems nice expect the months you mentioned. From a property investment POV it also seems lucrative . Planning to purchase a property in 2-3 yrs after some savings.
Hyderabad is still relatively slow paced. Nightlife is improving and so many international chains have started in the last couple of years. Traffic is horrible during peak hours but manageable. Metro is convenient. Not a lot to do other than eating and drinking but things around the city are opening up. If you're lucky enough to find like minded people you can chill with, weekends are a breeze. Old Hyderabad charm will transport you to another era.
Basically, a city in the midst of development at this point of time feels like you can have the best of both worlds. While growth is inevitable, I hope they do it sustainably and not go crazy or it will be just like another blore 😐
Lovely icon!
