 These days people don't know execution or process but suggest new ideas and features which are either trending or appearing cool. 
  
 So companies are doing this, i have seen people with no excel, no SQL, no tech stack idea but bragging about cool design/fancy ux changes, without any data backing.

Anyone hiring APMs?

I've been told that my working style and expectations as a PM don't match with the current situation in the company (no strategy, simply executing) and for that reason, they don't want to assign any new work. There are no appraisals either for anyone, people are leaving the company.

I'm not sure what to do about it now. I have 1.2 years of work experience and every PM opening expects a minimum of 3-4 years

Hi,

I'm a Marketing Analyst at a tech startup currently. I have a previous experience of working as a Demand Analyst (gauging demand of products through data analysis and market research), 4 years of experience in starting my own business (non-tech) which didn't work, and over a year of experience in my current job (learnt PM skills like wireframing, and user research). Current organization has no Product team.

I've been trying to get an APM role for a while now but to no success as most want Product experience or an Engineering degree. Would it be advisable to keep at it for an APM role or get a business analyst job and look to become a PM later? Do companies hire for PMs without a solid Product background and an engineering degree?

Speaking to friends etc in the PM roles, I've developed an interest in the role. And would like to give it a fair shot. Just can't seem to figure out how. Any pointers would be really helpful.

I've been working as an APM at a startup for about 6 months. I kinda fell into the role. Was a developer previously for about a year. So in total about 2 years of industry experience. As an APM, I've not gotten a lot of opportunities to work on hands on PM stuff. My line manager isn't a great mentor and despite having conversations with him to give me more product related tasks, my situation has not improved. 

What should I do? Will I be able to land another APM or a PM job elsewhere?

Hi everyone, I'll cut right to the chase
I have had 6 months of experience as a product intern and I'm trying to get into an APM role for the past 3 months.
I have not been able to get any interviews or calls for an APM role. The only calls I get are for product intern roles.
Is 6 months of experience not enough to move into a full time role??? I've done my engineering, completed my MBA from a tier 1 institute yet I'm not being considered as a qualified candidate.
The past 3 months have really taken a toll on my mental health and everyday feels like a burden. 

I would really appreciate if you all could guide me on what to do because I have no clue where I'm going.

So I started PMing a year back, 25y atm. Joined as APM right out of college. Sometimes I feel I should've done some adjacent role which would could've helped me in understanding how the industry works. Most of the times I work on feature mindlessly.

Many times lead engineers directly come to me for ticket requirements, all though i can deal with them, from time to time i feel like an imposter.

Anyone else feel like they got into PM too early?

So im looking out for a switch. I have overall 2.5yrs of experience with 1.3 yrs in product.

Im looking for APM roles preferably in Delhi/Gurgaon location, but open to pune, bangalore as well.

Im facing a lot of micromanagement at my current firm from the founder(since he heads product & tech) & i dont have ownership in my role. Even the director of PM shares the same frustration.

I feel like after a year of working here i wont have much to show in my cv in core product work. 

Just to give an example: i started an initiative to call customers for general feedback(satisfaction, whether they actually want what we are doing) & i was told to shut it down & work on things which doesnt have any customer validation.

If there are any opportunities available, kindly reach out. Any help would be appreciated.

here's why you should hire me (im 22, based out of Bangalore, graduating in 3 months) - 

1) worked in 4 startups prior to this, with roles ranging from machine learning to product. I've seen how things work and scale.

2) I am good with code, data, design & everything around them. i also can talk to people, manage stakeholders and shareholders. i have been a part of products being built from scratch.

3) I have always figured out on the job, even if the role you're hiring for is not exactly what i am looking for, i can always figure it out on the job, i always have. please drop a text below if you're hiring, the market is pretty bad.
