@Beast AFAIK Samsung Pay is only available on Samsung phones. So, peeps without Samsung can't simply go to the PlayStore to download, hence fewer users(?). However the experience is 10/10 for me.

I think people use GPay because it was one of the first app. And it has real good penetration in northern and western India

I use GPay. Hanging issues have been very few over the years compared to the volume of payments made.
Occasionally use WhatsApp pay and Cred (it gives cashbacks at the moment)

When recharging on the telecom provider's app, I use GPay. Once I select the pay option on the app, it directly takes me to the amount screen of GPay to pay - I don't have to put in my GPay PIN to open the app.
