How did you cope up after a Layoff?

I am an ML engineer working in a startup. My current situation is horrible,I am constantly stressed about getting laid-off(My performance is good,I got promoted a month ago). I came to know that my company will probably lay people off this month,since they are unable to meet targets. Now,I got rejected in four interviews. There is a lot to learn and revise. Stats and probability. Machine learning algos. Deep learning architectures(got rejected because I was unable to explain the architecture of a complex model in detail). DSA(got rejected twice in this round). SQL (got rejected once since I was unable to solve the SQL problem). ML ops(some recruiters ask this as well). With the added pressure of getting laid off,my whole life is turned upside down.I am unable to focus. Every meeting or discussion I attend I feel like people are evaluating me.( This was not the case before). I don't know what to do. It would really help,if you guys share your interview experiences below.

Hi folks, I got laid off today from a YC-backed startup (W23) citing a shift in product focus. Was part of the core team since Oct '21, initially as an intern then later converted to FTE in '22. Got a decent (30%+) increment this year. I was leading the mobile platform but currently, I'm on a notice period. CTO is supportive and helping me via their network. Someone in ur team or someone u had good relationship (work wise) with gets laid off? Do u discontinue working as hard? Does ur team velocity decrease or increase as everyone does better for survival? Just wanna hear from folks who have gone through this and does employer not see any affect in work? (E.g. Twitter case)

My contract was terminated last month citing restructuring. Honestly, I saw it coming but wasn't expecting it would hit like this I tried keeping my mind distracted, but now it has started to sink I live with parents and they aren't saying anything (they were feeding me before and still are, no change for them) I have had thoughts of ending all this, but do not have the courage. What if it ends halfway and I am redundant my whole life? Credit card bills are coming through now and being 42% of my ex-salary wasn't something I was prepared for. I thought I was a sane spender.

Tips to handle it and land a new job

After there was a layoff at your company 1- Impacted by layoff : Did your manager/team mates connect with you to keep you motivated? 2- The ones not impacted - Did your leadership/manager set up a team call to explain the reason for layoff and remove the fear/uncertainty that the rest of the people are safe. What did it tell you about the higher management of the company?

How the HRs react if you tell them you were laid off, please share your experience? Also, what other reason we can give for looking out for change in less than 5 months?
