Startup idea to create community support for people who don't want to marry
I have a startup idea to start a community service. The idea is to help people who don't want to marry under their parents or societal pressure. The service will provide counseling to parents, normalize singlehood, mediator between the customer and everyone involved. The service can be extended to almost anything aligning with this. The idea is that not many people can provide good arguments in their favour or just don't want to put their views. We will have the best and brightest people to provide support with expertise on psychology, societal behavior, debate etc. The idea could be totally ridiculous but I want to know the community's thoughts on this. Go on. Roast me if you feel like.

I don't understand the institution of marriage or having kids either. Others who do, please don't try to convert me, it's waste of energy
Also, I have seen marriages of extreme kinds in my family either side, divorce cheating to clingy instagram kinds. What am I missing than free sex? (Can't say this to parents like this)
I'm happy earning well, not waiting on someone else mess the house, or touch my stuff. Infact the responsibilities will make you tied down later in life.
Another comment that is parents favourite- who will take care in old age?
Old age caring where I'm shitting in bed. I'd rather die early (god you listening?)

Echo with a lot of the sentiments. Have been thinking about old age. Some thoughts that wander in my head
1. Today most kids (us and the next few generations) don’t stay with parents with many living abroad. These parents are having to take care of themselves - so the argument that kids will take care in old age is not entirely true. Sure, they may support with money, but that won’t be the real need for folks on grapevine at least. So I’m not sure if this should even be a reason to have kids.
2. One ought to put in effort to stay healthy to manage old age better and that needs to start as early as in the 30s - healthier life style, fitness, eating better, sleeping better etc.
3. If you decide to not have kids, the general pressure to earn money drops to a level defined by your needs and wants - which will be far easier to achieve. So mentally and physically you can choose to retire earlier and do things you love.
4. Senior living communities are going to be bigger and more prevalent a few years down the line. So for as long as one has the money, this might be a good idea to consider post 60s or whenever one wants to retire.

Also echo with the sentiments on kids 😛 but if I call it out I get a lot of advice. Societal pressure is too high especially if you are a woman. Rationally from an individual’s point of view, spending 20 years raising kids is against the principle of YOLO. So to each his own. And please don’t try to convert me either. 😅

This service should just provide counseling to property dealers so they don't prohibit bachelor's from owning or renting property. That's the biggest bs.

I think there is a small flaw. Especially when you focus on counseling to parents.
Most of the folks that are single and unable to convince parents don't have a convincing argument. I feel the majority of them are putting off marriage because of some insecurity, distrust etc.. whatever it is, the fight they must be fighting is mostly in finding a place for themselves in this world when they are unmarried. When every alternate guy/girl is getting married, who will they spend time with later?
If you can first address this, or atleast help build a better emotional society, I think that's a powerful idea

Well, I am putting it off simply because I am in my 20s and want to understand myself better. But also I haven't found a person with whom I can spend the rest of my life with!
This is definitely a problem that needs solving but imo what you’ve put forth is no solution at all
If it were as easy as talking to parents & making them understand, this problem would’ve been solved long ago. I think you need to think through the solutions & also think through how you could possibly make a business out of it
You have decided to screw up your life. Don't screw up others lives by brainwashing. You are just another victim of Western liberalism. The West is screwed up and narcissistic folks like you want to screw up India as well. I do empathise with men taking to singlehood given the laws and propaganda against being a "man". But there are ways to reverse it.
Rule 1 of counselling - the person counselled should be willing to acknowledge. Unfortunately, if the adult pays for a service that parents do not acknowledge, it will be difficult.
A better way would be to start a channel - and create WA university like content that appeals to this audience.
