 WFH won’t work in India because majority are lazy and dishonest!

Here is my counter argument: employees are more productive wfh. They don't have to waste time commuting, saves time and money, can easily unwind spending more time with the family, can work flexible. Granted some might misuse the system. But putting guardrails and punishing all of the employees is naive. Companies need to find better ways.

I love hybrid as I can have best of both world..my independence in Hyderabad and it's better for me when I visit my hometown periodically .You can't be yourself with your family being around you everytime and 25-30 is the age where you should live a little as well . I know this is not what majority of people like to listen, but for people coming from other cities with no friends and poor social skills, working remote or hybrid starts taking a toll on your mental health. 

The isolation it brings is so overwhelming. You feel trapped and frustrated, when there's no one to talk to.

Sometimes, I feel the quality of life of our kind of lower than street vendors at least they have people they can talk to. I just hate the way we are wired to be social animals yet find it overly difficult to connect with people.

Unpopular Opinion: I prefer Work from Office

If you are early stage of your career if you don't have responsibility at home you should come to office it's a healthy approach but for people like me who has already spend more than a decade in office life and has a small child at home working for home is like a saviour for me and my wife

I have been on a permanent wfh role since covid. Yes, been 2+ years since I stepped into an office. I stay alone and have little expenses but also 0 social life. Friends are all spread out. I have been working remotely and honestly, I don't want to go to office ever (at least that's what I feel right now) 
  
 I don't want to become besties with my coworkers, and I stay with family so I'm very happy spending all my time with my favourite people in the world! I also have the option of traveling and have decided to take an out of Delhi trip every 2 months at least 
  
 I might be biased, because my parents and immediate family are professionals as well and have home offices, so all my life, I've had the kind of atmosphere where offices don't play a huge role, so I'm happy! 
  
 But yes, I suppose I do get the socialising aspect, it becomes harder to make friends as one grows older, especially when all your school/college friends have office jobs 🙃🙃

I am an engineer and have been working remotely since the pandemic started. Initially, it was great as I could save time by not commuting to office but now I feel like I am missing out on something.

I don't know what it is but I just feel like I need to be in an office environment to thrive. Maybe it's the social aspect or the structure of having set hours, but whatever it is, I can't seem to find the same level of motivation when working from home.

Anyone else feeling this way? Any tips on how to make remote work more productive and enjoyable?

100% remote work is not working for me

I personally feel that it is much better if we work from home because I don’t fucking care about work at all.

Our jobs requires us to move to a different location almost every few years. Considering this fact, how do folks here decided where to buy their permanent home?

I used to live in Gurgaon before covid. I've been working remotely since then. In the long run, I don't see myself working from home all the time. I may move to work in a hybrid setup. I had always observed that there are not a lot of opportunities in Gurgaon comparing with Hyderabad or Bangalore.

Moreover, I don't like big & crowded places. I don't see myself living in these metro cities in the long run.

Where to buy a house permanently?

Am I the only one who likes working from office (Bengaluru)? I go to office every day, and it helps me to be more productive.

- There will be no distractions
- Team mates will be around, and if there is any queries, I can straight away ask them rather than typing a message or setting up a call
- Occasional chit chats
- Having lunch together
- being a part of all the conversations happening
- Managers works from office - a good rapport with him as well

- Free food
- Free Transport (can mates - another plus point)
- Good work set-up

- Meet new people almost every day
- Build/deepen real connections every day
- Interact with folks starting from entey level to senior directors or VPs regularly (L1 - L9 is the range mentioned here)


FYI: I moved to Bengaluru for work, although I've the option to work completely remote. 

One of my team member even mentioned that he has not yet been able to connect with the team member who has joined before me, like how he could connect with me.

I understand that once people have family, it will be difficult to manage everything. One of my team mate actually mentioned that, he used to do/manage everything properly before Covid, but it's kind of not easy/lazy since Covid.

I also realise that not everyone has the above perks, but still. 

Commute can be an issue. I travel 50+ KMs every day to and fro. I start by 7 am in the morning to morning traffic, and take around 75 minutes in the evening (I can survive the traffic without having to use my mobile 😂)

I do miss my family frequently, but I do have the flexibility to go home and stay a few days when I want. Staying alone in a service apartment is the only disadvantage as of now.

Can anybody from Infosys let me know , if we need to work 10 days from the base location, or any location where there is an Infy office will do ?

Guys who are staying in metro cities like Delhi NCR, Pune, Bangalore or Hyderabad.. Can anyone tell me how much in hand salary is sufficient to live above mentioned metro cities with the family who has parents and 2 children dependents?
Currently I am working remotely (work from home) but due to no hikes or promotion I think I need to switch and now a days very less or none companies offering work from home..Evey company either 5 days a week or following hybrid model...
So, please give ur valuable suggestions so that I can get idea whether should I switch and come to any metro cities or should I stay back in my hometown with same salary?

Guys if someone has same experience want you to share such here.  My office made work from office hybrid in a week but wants everyone to report office every week atleast twice. However they made a exception thar if you have some problem you can do wfh entirely. 
There were two cases

There was a newly married women collegue who wants wfh entirely as she has the problem of shifting to new city alone.

Then there is me who has been recovering from a leg fracture. Asking for a extension as commuting to office and doing self chores will be a problem alone in a new city.

In both these cases the first person got the work from home extension . And me commuting office with 1.5 legs every day. 

How these justify a equality in work place???
