Hi Community members I have lost 20 Lack in the stock market now working in a corporate company. Now my monthly EMI (80k) is double than my salary. I stay in a rented house with my family in Bengaluru. Salary what I'm getting is enough for my family's survival only. I have tried to do online side hustle, online tutor, home tutor, (nowadays most of them are fake) Now I do swiggy/zomato delivery also after my work hours. But still I'm unable to match the monthly EMI amount. I'm seeking your suggestion on: 1) Do I need to continue with stocks? 2) What side hustle can I do? 3) Is it good if I reduce the EMI amount and increase the tenure? 4) What happens if I don't pay the EMI? Anyone who has started a side-hustle which surpassed the primary income?

With the current cost of living, expenses and the fact that the job is not secure do you guys have a backup plan or any side hustles that are safe to start?

Have you worked/working on something that earns you additional income over your salary? What do you do? Why do you do it? How was the journey? Do you enjoy it? Is your work aware of it? How much do earn from it? I will start with myself. I worked on reverse engineered camera for Android devices, for 2 years, I did it because there was no camera for my phone with custom rom that used all the features of the hardware at the time I started the project, It started with an insult on a noob question XDA. At the end of two years it had downloads over 10K. It got famous in related communities. I even got a phone from the OEM for further development. Made a lot of friends Indian as well as international. It was fun for an year. After 2 years it become a game of cat and mouse. The manufacturer took steps to make my efforts to unlock features on older devices difficult. I lost motivation. Felt a lot like unpaid labour. Got tired about bug reports. My bosses were aware of it. Earned around 1.5L from donations and ad revenue. Now I am trying indie game development.

I have been thinking for quite sometime now to start some side hustle to make some passive money. I just want to develop some interest apart from primary work as a software engineer. Something I can work on over the coming years. Do you have a side hustle? Looking for some ideas.
