Don’t join Nasdaq

Hey Everyone! I am an app dev working for a startup and it's been more than a year there hasn't been any proper projects nor there were any end to end projects that I could work on. But I am unable to decide whether to start studying for DSA and jump to another company as I always get anxiety that my company would provide me with a project and I won't be able to perform it well as I do not know more of data handling stuff and the pay is really worst, they also denied my appraisal for this year.

When i was in college i wanted to build my own company/product. Thought of many ideas and tried to build something. None of them worked and it affected my studies so I had to quit just to clear my exams. After college I took placements in a WITCH like company where I got put into data entry/operations job after clearing difficult coding interviews (kismat kharab?). Somehow learnt new technologies on the side and managed to switch to a development role at a lower salary in a startup. After 3 years Worked hard on DSA and (barely) managed to get a good offer with above average pay. But the company is not stable anymore and may layoff at any time. Right now struggling to learn enough DSA to crack any company. Now I am almost 30, i have no hobbies,no talents, no relationships just trying to have a stable career. I see people everywhere doing so many things at once. How do they manage to do this. They are working at FAANG and managing businesses at the same time, have a bunch of friends. What am I doing wrong?

Hey guys, just need your advice I have been 5 years of experience at startups and have open source contributions too and now I want to switch to some good product based companies including FAANG with some good WLB. I am well versed with topics but I am not very sincere with doing DSA and leetcode regularly. I haven’t practiced daily and now I am looking to do it, but I lack motivation and get frustrated easily. I am thinking to do a DSA course on weekends, will that be good? Any advice is recommended. PS: The switch is for WLB

I work in a few months old as a software developer. In a startup . Being Only employee. The CTO left some days back. Pay is decent . Around three year of exp. However I don’t feel like learning anything having no senior in tech background. Also working there isn’t motivating at all. Since the founder are basically getting a tech product made and then keeping on adding features, rather than selling already what’s been made. Make me work all days including Saturdays. I am preparing dsa for whatever 1-2 hrs i get but I dont like doing my job. Since market is bad and ive been out of touch with DSA, I am not able to decide whether to quit and prepare for a job full fledged or keep whatever’s going going. These people have also said they will try this project for max 6 months if nothing works.

Working at TCS has been nothing short of a disappointment. The so-called "job security" they boast about is the only thing going for them. Job security alone doesn't pay the bills or bring job satisfaction. My pay package is so laughable + there is no room for career growth here. It is almost like they want you to stagnate, my managers know so little that I can only think that the smart people leave and only the mediocre remain at TCS. TCS is a place where dreams go to die. I joined through TCS Ninja ~2 years ago because Amazon revoked my offer and that was my biggest mistake. I am preparing for FAANG again now.

I am a backend engineer with a 9 year exp. In my fourth company now. Started with 5 lpa, now at 31 Lpa. Mostly have worked in normal companies only. I am from one of the NITs. I am not good at DSA. Everytime I have to switch a job, my resume gets shortlisted and I get call via naukri. The things is in these last 4 job searches I have been rejected 100 times. I have been rejected by almost all the companies, Service now 5-6 times, oracle 5-6 times, Walmart 2 times, goldman 3 times, jpmorgan 2 times, Amazon 4-5 times, arcesium 3-4 times, msft 2 times. Apart from these, I have been rejected by adp, celigo, phenom, barclays, flipkart etc. Every time, I want to change a job, I'll get rejected by all the big companies and then will get selected at some normal company with a hike and will join them. I am at my fourth company now, and again I am searching for a job. Have already been rejected by GS, service now, phenom, epam, ice, demandbase in last 2 months. Every time it is the same DSA. I try studying, will do decent amount of leetcode prior to interviews. Last two months I am doing leetcode from strivers sheet. But same question I'll do here, and in interview will fail. Example I have done sorted array rotation, shares sell and buy, rain water trapping, and was asked the same question in interview and couldn't solve. I also want to earn more and get into some big company and stay there for some times, what shall I do? My concerns are, I am getting lesser calls this time compared to the last few years, I can't be switching job every two years. Want to join a big company and earn more.

Be it SDE, SRE, Data Scientist or any other role never intern at PhonePe worst place to work at, the conversion rate is lowest as compared to other. Conversion is rarely done based on skills. I have heard from other department interns that they were not even assigned a project to work on and were removed. Interning at PhonePe felt like being in a school with strict teachers and zero respect for people.

Wondering how much does not knowing DSA and lack of practice of LC hurt your chances of getting hired ? For context I am an sde with 1 yoe from tier 1 college been out of touch with dsa for over 1.5 yrs and I am planning on making my first job switch, I believe I know my job very well and am good at what I do better than most of the people around me but just out of touch with dsa.
