What books should i start with?
Been reading everyone’s resolutions about reading 1 book/month. Honestly, I have never been to reading. Need something light to start with. The most i’ve read is manga/manhwa till date. something small to start with. more of a binge watcher. started A man called Ove 2 years back, gave up after 10 pages. haven’t read any chetan bhagat either.

Harry Potter series
So much this ^ everytime I come back to the habit of reading and I don't find the interest, I read a few chapters of Harry Potter. So I've read the entire series at least 3 whole times.
The key to reading books is to first develop a habit.
Figure out what you like first. Once you know the topics that interests you, find books on those topics.
If you're not able to find an interesting topic, start with fiction. Nothing grips a human more than stories. Find out your preferred genre, and start reading those fiction books.
My personal recommendation are these authors:
- Enid Blyton (The Famous Five Series, The Secret Seven Series), RL Stine (Goosebumps) & JK Rowling (Harry Potter, duh!): adventure books that are best suited for kids & early teens
- Sidney Sheldon, Jeffrey Archer, Dan Brown, John Grisham, David Baldacci: thriller & mystery books
Once you've acquired the habit of reading books, you can delve into non-fiction. I've read fiction for a little more than a decade. Now I'm exploring books on (auto)biographies, sports, self-help, leadership, investing, etc.
To add, like @silent_silver mentioned, Amish is a fantastic recommendation for Indian authors. I'm a pure atheist, yet I absolutely enjoyed reading all of The Secret of the Nagas & The Shiva Triology.

A book to start with: when the coffee gets cold. Written in simple English and in straight forward way. Good for beginners.

If you've read Harry Potter, then try Percy jackson.
One good advice for first time readers is, Read what you love, until you fall in love with reading.
not sure what i like cause i haven’t read enough. can’t read much cause i lose interest halfway. back at square 1.
I think you can start with something general like, Chetan Bhagat, Harry Potter etc. Other than that I guess you would have to explore around a little bit to understand what you like.
For eg, I liked spy/political movies and series a lot, so I initially picked up something in a similar genre ( Sherlock Holmes ) and loved it.
