Do FAANG companies ask current/last drawn salary in interviews?

Have heard that these companies usually have a salary band for every role and typically their offer is best in the industry. Having said that is their a scope of negotiating further?

So I am looking out for a new role and the final round of the interview is done. I am now at the negotiation stage where I do not want to quote a number but want to know the current "Market standard" Job : Frontend/iOS engineer YOE : 5, worked in good product companies throughout The HR person also mentioned that they can pay as much as Adobe salaries. Numbers, anyone?

Can people who have been at FAANG for 4-5+ years share what their salary progression has been like? I came to know recently about someone where the first year TC for a L5 position at Google was 1.54cr where the base was 60.5 lpa. Assuming one starts at 1.54cr (which in my mind is already quite inflated for someone with 8 year experience), what would their salary progression look like?

What are the salaries offered by FAANG companies (broad range) to Indian MBA grads with 15 yrs of work experience (strategy/management consulting work ex)?

I make $50k USD in my current job and I am interviewing for a role in a US based startup. Their salary range for the role is mentioned to be $80-120k. My ideal target is $100k with them. Shall I inflate my current salary to let's say $75k in the hope of an easier negotiation to $100k? Can they do a background salary check in India? They are a tiny team of <10 folks. The above thought is obviously under the assumption that they can't verify my salary in India and/or would not be bothered about it. Is my assumption correct? And if yes then is my approach correct?

Contemplating between an offer at Google vs a Series A startup, in India, with similar pay. I'm curious to know if Google as a name on the resume (or for future prospects) is still as big as it was maybe 5-8 years ago? Or is India just a low cost employee centre for them and it'll always be down-the-stream work, at the whims of middle/senior managers? I have seen some companies post about them looking to hire a lot of people and ask people to reach out to them over DM (if their DM is even open in the first place lol), but when I do, I never hear anything back. I have 4 yoe and have applied to so many of these companies, reached out to people working there, but no one has ever replied back. Why do they even say that their DMs are open in the first place? I don't know how to even get my resume in front of an actual person working there, and my resume is not even that bad. Like how do people get interviews in these companies in the first place? I have applied so many times but never actually got contacted by any HR. Any tips will be much appreciated.
