Business Analyst

Hello folks, I am currently in the field of Audit with an experience of 1 year under 1 of the Big 4 accounting firms. However I would like to explore more since this didn't catch my interest and the work life balance is shit!!! So I am planning to get a certification of Business Analytics. Can anyone guide me with the opportunities- growth wise and money wise. Thanks in advance:)

27M, I wanted to switch my career into a Business analyst from Sales Admin. Total YOE : 5 Business Analyst Experience : 1 yr Skills : Power bi, SQL, Tableau, SAP, IBM COGNOS, BPMN- ARIS, JIRA, little knowledge of python, Advance Excel. Actually I have a fair of my age, that whether or not I can get placed into a decent firm. Please help to guide.

It would be easy to find out who I am if I say anything more but I have worked in cross-collaborative roles across my careers spanning multiple decades in Big4s. I have led several projects for Govt of India and Public Sector Organizations. Personally I have worked in multidisciplinary fields mostly in IT and Databases. I have recently worked in Solution designing and Enterprise Architecture for many large orgs. Most of this is Digital strategy for many offline first businesses. Ask me Anything!

How's the pay for analysts in banks like Citi, HSBC, IDFC etc? My "assumption" is they have a better work life balance compared to start-ups (I work in one - CTC being 28lpa - almost 4 YOE). Why am I asking? Looking at how things are going on at BLR, I'm planning to someday switch to company with work from home and better work life balance.

Hey. I'm a post graduate from a tier 1 MBA college currently working as a management consultant in one of the Big4s (<1 year). Compensation is good (~30 lpa), can't complain. Work has been stagnant for a while firm wide though and have just been focused on upskilling myself. With the interactions I've had till now, I don't really see myself building any hard skills other than data analysis in excel, power BI and business acumen here. (I might just be ill informed here, but are these transferrable skills I can take to the industry? I know data analysis is the bread and butter for business everywhere but I'm talking about specific software and whatnot used in companies) 1. I'm just worried about the exit opportunities that I might have later on. Can anyone shed some light on what kind of exit opportunities one can expect? 2. Let's say I want to get into the operations side of the industry. Is there anything I can do if I'm not necessarily involved in such projects?

Hey folks ! So, I'm a dev with less than 2 years of experience working for a service-based company. Our management dropped a bomb on us - a super tight deadline project that's like building a freaking Paytm for an entire country in less than a year! The pressure is intense, and the higher-ups are always pushing us to go faster, take ownership, and deliver like superheroes. But here's the kicker - we don't have any Business Analysts (BA) on our team. Nope, we have to rely on the client's BAs for all the requirements. And let me tell you, these guys can be frustratingly clueless at times! To make matters worse, our Scrum Master only cares about finishing sprints and doesn't give a damn about proper planning. Talk about chaos! And here's the icing on the cake - most of us devs are still fresh in the industry, with less than 2 years of experience. Oh, and did I mention that the client seems to have a personal vendetta against me? I'm reaching out to you , for some advice on how to survive this madness. Any tips, tricks, or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated! SOS!

About six months back I reached out to someone who connected me with hiring manager (BU head) who after speaking with me and my interest in product manager rolled me an offer and I joined the startup at PM. From past 3-4 months I have been working on a BI/Data project which is quite fun and I have been enjoying the project. Today he asked me if i want to do data stuff since I am enjoying and liking the role. The caveat is I’ll probably have to change my designation from Product Manager to Business Intelligence Team. Wanted to know your thoughts on it and whether to make this change?
