34 Days and counting..

Been over a month I have been laid off. For the first time in almost 4 years I have had no work at all for over a month. Feels a bit good, a bit relaxed from the immense work pressure and toxicity but at the same time lot of pressure with regard to finances, as and more days are passing. Have been taking time out to upskill myself, applied to over 300+ jobs maybe by now. Got call backs from 10-12, interviewed with 5. None of them turned out to be positive yet. Lot of sympathy and empathised content goes on LinkedIn but reaching out to people, 1/15 may respond, putting a status, people just write CFBR mostly (hence I totally avoided that). Any advice, tips, help would be appreciated. I’m from a non-tech background.

It has been 25 days since I got laid off from the startup that I was working for. I have given a few interviews. Got rejected in 1st or 2nd rounds in a few, went till the last round n rejected in a couple and haven't heard back from the HR in a few. Not hearing back, unanswered calls, delays in rounds etc. cause a lot of anxiety and impacts my confidence and preparation levels. How do I tackle it? Also, unable to find fresh openings in product/ strategy roles for past few days. This also adds to pressure and uncertainty. In short, it is a very troubling phase. How do I deal with it? Need enormous help from all of you folks. Would love to hear some great thoughts / insights / hacks too.

Hi everyone , its been 1 month since i hv started my job search . I hv taken refs also but nothing is happening neither i am getting calls nor test links. My exp is 2+ my company is a series f startup and has recently laid off and i am completely tensed . Plz suggest some advice . I am a backend engineer. I hv tried to reach out recruiting firms but even they are not replying.

I faced job loss in November, with one year of experience as a 2022 batch passout. My skills include JavaScript, React, and Core Java, and I've begun practicing on LeetCode. Despite applying to nearby companies and MNCs, I haven't received any responses, leaving me feeling tense and depressed. I'm uncertain about when hiring will resume.

Maybe soon I'll be get laid of by my firm as layoff is ongoing in company and manager also keeping distance from last some days. How to handle this situation.

I am thinking of leaving my current job and focus on myself, getting to know myself better etc. Currently I have enough money saved for my expenses for next 6-8 months. Everyone I have asked about this say don't leave your job if you don't have another lined up, in this tech winter. I understand their view point. It aligns with what my parents think as well. Is there anyone who has had done this in the past? Do you recommend this route? Are the consequences far too severe? Does anyone have a different opinion from one stated above?

Got impacted in the layoff at Sharechat today after working 4+years here. Got the news an hour back and have not shared this with anyone in my family yet. I am sad and have to share this news with my fiancee and in-laws today. Tell them why I have to cancel vacation plans and look out for a job instead. I am into an arranged married and my in-laws are very conservative and don't understand tech work culture, I don't know how they will take the news of a layoff. I'm anticipating they will be shocked, her asshole brother-in-law will even make fun of me. To make it worse the fault is mine for believing I won't be laid off when my company was not doing well. I thought it would not happen to me and never looked out in advance. Fuck 2023. What a shit show Christmas.

Hello, all i have a gap of 6 months, will it affect me to find jobs as i carry 1.5 year of experience causing me a lot of diffculties while getting shortlisted ? What should i do , feeling stressed ? Hi Grapes, I am looking for a job in a product role .I do have a kind of 3 plus years of early stage product building experience but was laid off last year .It's been a tiring journey since then ,trying my best to get a job in the current market but interview calls are not coming ,if they come they are taking one or two rounds and then HR ghosts without any update.Trying my luck here too , if anyone is hiring would love to connect .Anyone facing a similar situation can contribute their thoughts .
