Third Party Payroll
Does anybody have any experience of working on third party payroll for a MNC? How does it work and should I be apprehensive of it and what should I take care of I join in such a setup. Thanks.
Why do some companies hire via third party payroll. Secondly what things a person shall be wary of before joining on thir party payroll
Don’t join on third party pay roll ever.
You have zero leverage. You’re essentially a contract worker for that company while your payroll master is employing you. This saves the company the hassle of managing you anymore, they get the work done and when you’re not needed then your contract isn’t extended. You’ll be out on the streets without benefits of an actual employee. Regardless of whether it is mentioned in your offer letter.
Be wary that you may be laid off at short notice. And be wary that it won’t look good on resume, for your next interview, but it should not matter if you are confident about your technical skills. And be wary that it is just 2-3 yrs job, either they will fire, or you will end up resigning.
@shpinq ,everything else is alright if I can get the name of main company in resume as it is a big name... Is it possible.
@MrBlunt No, not possible. You can mention it in your own resume though. But experience letter will contain only the name of the company which is actually paying you. They never mention client name. It will anyway go against confidentiality I think (not sure).
They hire from a third party as a contractor. Contractors are paid less than permanent employees and have worse benefits like no health insurance in some cases.
But why is hiring done third party at all.....
@MrBlunt No risk of compliance for them. They can fire whenever they wish. Moreoever the primary company where you actually go to work, for them too, it is less liability, less expense, like no stocks, no Bonus, no insurances.
Easy to fire once your work is done.
