MBA is a master class in making humans dumber and less sensitive.
Haven't come across one fruitful contribution of the MBA to the human race. Change my mind.
Sour grapes.
I am an MBA and have moved by income 3X to 40 LPA post MBA in 4 years, i work 7-8 hours / day.
Just good with finance and marketing may be!

Lacks business knowledge.
Gets paid more for no reason.
Has zero commonsense.
Is arrogant.
An MBA would write down the user persona of Software Engineers like this.

Leaving my CAT/GMAT prep and selling my books. Gonna return back to becoming a code coolie.
Very True
However, these are money making traits. Only less sensitive people can extract more work out of their team and only dumb people go for higher risks.
I'm an engineer and I hate both MBA and managers but that's the bitter truth.
Why are you expecting them to make contributions to the human race? Nobody owes the world shit.
It's almost always a way to accelerate one's own career. That's it.

Sahi baat hai
Spoken like a true SDE who won't even contribute to the business of the firm they're working for.
PS - SDEs who are mature enough and contribute to the business won't post such stuff is the assumption.

I'll just end this debate by saying. Most sde can do what MBA's do. I doubt it's the other way round for MBA's to sde

Lists of things that MBA taught me which made me a half-decent PM.
Feel free to say PM's are not needed.
- Understanding defining good metrics (Cases, basic eco, goodhearts law)
- Consumer Behaviour
- I read thinking fast and slow cause of that course, most impactful book of my life
- Reading financial statements (What is true nature of the business)
- Co-ordinating, negotiating and ability handle other peoples incompetence. I know people will fail and I know how to help them. It does still irate me but it did make me better at dealing with people of all skill levels. (You work in small groups all the time its a craft I really got better at). Have a team who have hard time getting started, give them a format they can fill.

most of the people who are going for MBA belong to rich/elite families, that's the core issue

I haven't done an MBA but i think some fundamental business knowledge is useful.
Can also be self learnt though. I did.
Accelerators and incubators can help too.
Unfortunate reality is degree reputation is still a big factor in getting access to bigger and better opportunities.
I think MBA makes a person way smarter (not dumber) than the previous 10+2 and +3/4 of education does.
If you actually care to learn just ask 'why' are non MBA's doing what they are doing, you will get your answers.
(PS: I am commenting about dumber or not and not about sensitive or not)
