How to transition to a backend engineer role from frontend

I joined industry as a front-end engineer back in April, 2022 and now i am feeling like expanding my horizon of skills and start doing backend. Also, I am hearing it from people that there is not much growth in FE in terms of compensation. So, curious to know the views of people here and would be great if someone can guide through. Any one here who after certain years of experience in front end (web or mobile) switched to backend or vice versa. If yes, did your existing org. provided you the opportunity or you got it outside? I am current working on native android with 7+ years of experience and I want to switch to backend. Any suggestions?

I'm currently working as a Frontend Engineer at leading FinTech in India. I'm doing great in my current role(IMO). I also contribute to open source libraries on weekends. Maybe it is FOMO or my learning curve being relatively flat, recently I'm feeling I don't want to type cast myself as a frontend engineer and explore backend as well. I might get promoted to senior role this appraisal cycle. My current org (specifically my managers) don't want me to contribute in backend services as there are already plenty devs in backend. How to go about this? I can't switch since, no company would hire a folk as a senior backend developer with 0 backend experience.

Can i switch my career from frontend to backend as I am having 3.5 years of experience in react. If I can, than how, as whenever I try to do so i am not shortlisted for backend role. Also in my company it's difficult to switch as they are not allowing to do so ? Thanks in advance 😃😃

Have almost 2 yoe as swe Backend. I have worked only in Java and nothing else. The work is related to data engineering cum backend. Worried about future on how to switch etc. Should go towards backend path or data engineering path. How to upskill and move ahead?? Hi everyone, I am working as a ruby on rails backend engineer in a service based giant of India for past 3 years .. Thinking of changing my role to a front-end developer (I know front-end as ruby on rails requires a good amount of front-end knowledge) What are some things to keep in mind while changing roles, also for a 3 year experience, what salary should I expect in Bangalore/Gurgaon...?
