Ghosting by HR
Why does HR ghosts? Is this being taught to them in HR courses? In a decent work setup a simple No or Yes either on mail or text would be ideal.
It's an elective in their second year.
Also a great reason to avoid dating folks in Talent Acquisition.

They don’t want to break the bad news and get into argument
A half decent individual would understand and seek only feedback. A mailer would solve this

Because people will believe they are the perfect match whereas the reality is it isnt the case for rhat particular org.
A plain No would suffice instead of ghosting. Could be communicated over mail as well.

Well imagine being a recruiter myself, i dont get a rejection call post interviews. Companies have made it their own norm. Just an unfortunate truth

Ghosting is often because most people are either too busy or feel uneasy saying no.
Automated mails when you mark a profile ‘not shortlisted’ is an easy enough option but I get your point.
It's human nature to not being defensive in situations that can be avoided.

Sometimes it's so that the decision can be delayed and in case of future opening they can be contacted
There are communications designed as such. I don’t think this gives them right to ghost. It’s just a bad practice in HR community that has become norm.
