Is it okay to lie about my current salary to HR during interview screening process?

Guys, I have 8 years of IT experience out of which , 2.5 in azure. I got a call from Capegemni HR , saying there's an azure opening, asked for my current and expected CTC. I said the current is 7 LPA and expected is 20 LPA. It's a hybrid role with 3 days working from the office. She said it is not possible, Max they can give is 10-13. I am in Kerala,and have a baby under 1. I have to relocate if I get it. I don't think it is fair salary. Is it ok if we don't tell when they're asking for our current salary based on which they will give max 100% if we perform exceptionally in the interview. Or how can I deal this? Thanks in advance.

Hi, just wanted to know if it’s okay to lie about your salary on a job application. I mean I know it’s not okay but I know I’m severely underpaid and am looking at just industry standards and now there is a company who is willing to offer what I deserve but they require pay slips and that just doesn’t sit well because what do I exactly do now? Need to know how to fix this situation? And how can I proceed?

Had the first (exploration) call with my would-be boss and HR lead to figure out which role I would fit in. Company is an MNC startup, best culture ive heard of, lots of friends working there in different verticals etc. I usually dont reveal salary this early on but it was a very quick call and they asked about it and I felt like I had to this time to not come off as a snob or stuck up. Chances are low and I am okay pushing back but Im paranoid about getting lowballed now. Any advice on how to better my chances in the upcoming rounds? Greatly appreciate any help

These days HRs are asking the employees before sitting for an interview about their current ctc. I don’t want to reveal that to them and want to get paid according to the industry standards/ based on the market conditions. How to smoothly avoid that question and avoid getting underpaid?

An example scenario: Let’s say my CTC is 34 LPA + annual stock payout of 5 Lakhs. My total yearly earning potential is 39 LPA. In the new role they don’t have a variable or stocks. Is it reasonable to ask for a 25% hike on the overall earning potential? So the new CTC is 49 LPA. I haven’t switched my employer in the past few years so currently is lacking the clarity on the way how negotiations are done. Kindly help by sharing the best practice.
