Need help. How do you not let yourself be affected by your parents' worry about marriage? My parents can't find a suitable match in our caste. They aren't internet savvy, and English isn't their language, so they pester me daily about not looking for matches. Filtering by caste and my city on Shaadi.com or JS gives only 80-100 profiles, most with requirements I don't meet. This affects me, and I end up shouting at my parents. It's not my fault they can't find someone, or that I seek a progressive family and partner. You can't choose your parents, but you can choose your partner. Why should I settle where I don't feel like myself? I'm losing it.

I know it's not a good platform to share a personal story but wanted to express myself. I am a software engineer with decent earnings working in Accenture and going to join Deloitte! My family environment is getting worse because of my father's drinking habit. We are not able have a normal topic with happy moment. Every-time I tried to have a discussion it gets into bad fight. I already had a pretty hard heart break and only option I have is family where I am not able to make things right. I am feeling as a failed as a child and not having any expectations from future. I am tired of toxic environment not sure till when I can handle this. I don't want to have any partner in my life as they will face things which I am facing. I suppose leaving life alone is good for me. Alone and happy. I know sharing this will not change anything. Just wanted to tell everyone keep your family first priority. Without family high paying job will also not give any satisfaction.🙂

Hi guys I am facing some issues with my family members, they are constantly trying to convince me to get married with someone, although my mom is supportive but my dad is not, I am fighting with them almost everyday, i somehow left my job life been on bench since long periods, not able to Focus properly on my health, not able to sleep properly at night time, got infections in my body, I am feeling shattered don't know what should I do I'm 26F working in an IT service based company, I need your suggestions guys Thank you

Heya... New to this app... Experiencing a hard life like others (in this era mostly are struggling) been in a serious relationship it's been 5 years all things are going good but family is not convinced for marriage my side family is good with it but other end family is problematic it's like if this marriage happens they all will die n blah blah this is basically drowning me mentally apart from this complicated job not have good terms with my manager somehow he is trying me leave this job by myself..... So my question after stucking in so much things how to live life

I am in early 30ts F, Family wants caste marriage, but most of the PPL from the community is not okay with my independent thinking and growth mindset. Each conversation goes back to me being married to a family where I will need to go few years back in my life to adjust with the thought process. Am I being unreasonable? This is getting too much to handle, so many conflicts with my family, today it was upto the extreme that I felt like I am being burden too them and they will be better without. Never before ever I had this feeling of leaving the world with this ease. I want companionship in my life, but caste apparantly is really important for my parents. They agree that it is rare to find someone with the morden thinking in the caste due to the traditional norms and not many ppl getting oppertunity to come out and explore other parts of the country. I am really afraid of being trapped in the system is I marry in the caste. I don't know how to navigate this. These days whatever my family things whatever I say and talk is against them. These chaos is becoming too much for me to handle too.

25M. My parents keep on asking to get marry Because I am earning.. But the thing is I am not prepared for this, need to achieve my goals, not sure I will be reaching my goals after marriage. more over there are some trust issues on arranged marriages. Also I do get this on my mind some times, does marriage is mandatory, can't we live without marriage, I feel this when I see married people pretends that they are happy outside but they are not inside, reasons might differ, lack of understanding, compromises, adjustments, Financial instability . I am in full of confused state. I already rejected few matches because of this mixed feelings and also to achieve my goals.

I (28, Hindu Brahmin) am in love with this (30, Sikhni) girl. We are together in relationship from last 5 years. I am trying to convince my mom for marriage but she is not getting convinced. We have being in relationship for very long and she(girl) has waited for a very long time for us to get married. Everytime I talk to my mom, she says, you get married but don’t involve me. Girl’s family came to meet my mom, there also my mom denied. I said that I want to get married to this girl only. Girl’s family they are trusting me to get married to her only. They didn’t resisted much. I and girl’s family decided to get married in December, and have planned everything. I hve invited only my friends and girl’s family is also having few closed relatives. My mom is still not getting convinced. She is not talking about marriage at all. What should I do? On top of that my sister, is saying that I am rushing into it. Though it is clear my mom is not going to be convinced. What should I do? Getting stressed a lot. Anyone else who faced the same, going through it or anybody else who can share their pov or any idea around what should be done?

Feeling worried all the time I am 28 year old, unmarried and staying at Bangalore working at Cognizant Problems in my life 1. I am fighting with my own parents because I love a guy from different religion. He is my school mate and very good person. We both are at IT firm. He earns 38LPA and I earn 16LPA. Financially we are good and we both have very good understanding of each other. 2. I have health issues like pcod , thyroid, gas trouble and digestion issues. Constantly taking tablets and feeling exhausted all the time. 3. I have very toxic work culture at office. My manager literally forces us to work like hell. She doesn't concern about our health issues and treats like robots. I am always thinking about work and getting anxiety issues. Currently I feel like taking break from everything and focus on myself but money is also important because i want to financially independent. My brain is constantly worried thinking about future like work, health and money. Nothing really helps me and I feel worried all the time.
