Why are recruiters looking for immediate joiners?
Why are recruiters looking for immediate joiners? I seriously, respectfully, want to understand why is this rule? Even the company you are hiring for has 60 days notice period or even more. In todays market nobody wants to resign without an offer. People having 60 days( or 90 days) notice period, what should they actually do.

Precisely. Also if they meet someone who is an immediate joiner, first question they ask if why did you leave your job without another offer! I mean do you have to pay my bills or rent? Your role is just to match if the candidate fits the job profile and forward their resume. Never understood this outdated thinking that if someone is not working currently, there is something wrong with them. Maybe they have well off parents?? But no everyone is assumed living paycheck to paycheck

"Since we are cheapstakes we want to find the one who are without a job right now and are desperately in need of a job and are most likely to accept our lowballed offer which ultimately allows us to lick our boss's ass and show how we saved them x%."
- Most recruiters
Immediate joiners insisted coz they fear candidates would shop around for offers. Also this happens when there is an urgent project requirement from client and budget likely to lapse later.

Urgent roles. Someone left or workload increased, need someone ASAP
Seldom I have seen they plan in advance where they can accommodate notice periods.
Because that's their maximum operating capacity. Common sense doesn't apply on talent acquisition and HR department.
To stop offer shopping and to approach those only who are confident and seriously looking for the job change. Some of the companies even give offer letter only two to three days before the last working day of the candidate. So be prepare accordingly. And also some of the companies are recalling their offer letters. So beware too.
Someone accepted offer, got better deal just before few days of joining and didn't show up. HR will be in soup and look for immediate joiners to fill the gap

In this market situation, 2+ yoe exp people didn't find a job for months. I have 1.4 yoe in frontend + plus Immediate joiner but still got rejected every time even when I answer all questions. Dont leave even if you have offer many of my friends offer revocked because the found guy with more exp. working in less pay.
This is because companies nowadays are not hiring for the bench. Only if there is a project requirement and none of resources from the existing bench qualified for the role then only they'll search candidates outside the company. If they offer someone who will join 3 months later, the probability is very high that the candidate won't join.
