Resigning 1 week before my maternity leave ends. Should I serve notice?

I work for a start up and am currently on maternity leave. I am supposed to resume my work from the 2nd week of may. And My husband has to move to a different country for work. He is moving early next month. So I will have to take care of some of his responsibilities here, while he is away from home. Having a 6 month old baby and my father in law to take care of as well. I have decided to take a break from my career and sort things out. Once my husband settles down, we will move there and then I'll start looking out for opportunities. Now the question is, since I'm resigning during maternity leave and the project has no dependency on me. Can the manager or HR ask me to serve the notice?? Or will I be given an immediate release? I want an immediate release. Please advise!

You can request for immediate release by honestly conveying your situation, I believe they should be fine with it ideally. Ultimately it will depend on the company/project policies and the decision makers point of view in this situation. You should have this conversation as soon as possible so that if you have to serve the notice period then you can finish it earlier and start your break soon. The more you will delay this discussion the more you have to manage multiple things.

When you resign from your job, and have like for example 15 paid leaves that you haven't utilized, is the company obligated to encash those leave or use those leaves to release an employee early? On the verge of resigning, so need clarity here. Thanks

I'm working as a BA in my current org. I'm on bench for more than 30 days and I have dropped my resignation but the HR is not approving my early release. I have an offer in hand and I need to join in another 15 days. In even agreed for notice period buyout but still that HR isn't allowing. It's really upsetting when we do not have any dependencies why do the HR ask to serve the complete notice period? Infact it is a loss for them to keep Billing me in bench. Please advice what can be done here in my situation

Need help!! I asked early release from company. Notice period is 90 days but I want to leave in a month and willing to buyout notice period. But my manager is not approving. I have reason. I am relocating due to medical emergency in family and to take care of wellbeing of them. What should i do.? My company has not paid by last 3 months salary, should I need to serve notice period

My employer has this system of group of companies coming under one single startup umbrella. He has been delaying my salary for the last 5months with 2.5months worth of salary still pending. Now I got job outside and wanted to resign as soon as possible now. Last month he moved me into a other company inside the group, I signed a new offer letter. But the salary from that company for aug month hasn’t received yet. Now can I resign without mentioned notice period stating that I didn’t received my salary yet?
