Any Kubernetes engineer here? Need for advice!

Hello guys,

I'm currently having 1.5 years of experience and wants to shift my technology domain to kubernetes devops. Currently working on GCP. Haven't really met anyone from K8s, so how does it works! Hope there won't be a 24/7 service hours. Because the major reason I'm shifting the domain is to avoid rotational shifts! Also how the salary hike will be? Will it worth it? I'm having knowledge in Kubernetes, docker, GCP, VMware and terraform. It's really hectic to find a new domain guys, so kindly share your thoughts!

As long as you are in devops, you cannot escape Oncalls. It's one of the primary duties alongside other things. Even if you learn Kubernetes or not, it won't change that fact, period!

So, how we can escape from it? Any clue?

Switch fields!

Why do you even wanna escape it? Improve the issues such that you find Root cause and fix them. Within few months you'll have less and less on call pressure and within months your oncall should be just like another day except for any day0 issues that arise
