Sometimes this thought really occurs in my mind. I am the only child of my parents being total introvert it's difficult for me to talk to poeple from school and college times whenever i made friends(or whom i thought were friends) drifted apart it was me  always who took the initiative to call or meet them but when i observed that no such initiatives from their side I too stopped bothering them. Even with my cousins who are pretty older than me i don't have that close bonding they are busy with their lives too. Now with my parents growing old i really sometimes fear that i will not have anyone in this world whom i can talk to despite my best intentions and efforts i am maybe not that likeable that people will want to go out or include me in plans. I am trying to improve and socialize more but just one sided effort doesn't seem to be worth anymore.

I think about seriously quitting my job atleast once every few months but I've stuck it out here for almost 3 years now.

I don't know if it's just me but the idea of putting myself out there and starting afresh at a new company is just terrifying -  the struggle to find something exciting but stable, being evaluated at interviews all over again, the uncertainty of fitting into a new team and having to prove myself all over again at a new work place - all of this just puts me off from taking any real action

I see everyone around me talking about career growth and taking up new opportunities. And rationally, I get it.  I get that there are tons of benefits to changing jobs - better salary, escaping a toxic workplace, etc. etc. I truly admire people who make these frequent shifts - seriously, how do people navigate this?

 We, in service based have to give interviews every now and then as the project changes. So as a byproduct we are kind of used to interviews 😂 (cry aa rha)

At times, I feel that, Life is moving very fast!! Although I try to take out time for myself, for my health, fitness and everything. But still feel, everyday is passing by so quickly. 
Every week I wait for the weekend, and then the weekend also passes by so quickly, and the cycle continues.
How is it going for everyone else? 😊

So this is a problem that I’ve been facing for a while now. I’ve watched tonnes of educative videos where as a response to the recruiter’s question about last drawn CTC, the creator advises asking if there’s a budget allocated for the role. In my experience , on asking the budget, the recruiter blatantly says that they can’t disclose it but insists on asking about mine. Now, that isn’t so much a problem than the recruiter asking for the expectation. In this scenario, it’s either quoting a very low band so that you can still be consider for the role and being underpaid or you quote what you actually want for them to consider and they rejecting their candidacy on that every criterion. 
P.S. - This conversation usually happens telephonically and is one of the first interactions with the recruiter/company. Most companies on LinkedIn complete this exercise via form which leaves no room for discussion or consideration. 

Is there anyone else who’s faced a similar issue? How did you go about it? 
Just FYI I come from a legal background, so idk if this trend is domain specific, but any insights/suggestions would be of immense help.

Being underpaid v Not being considered for the role

I can't seem to relate to much of the non-FAANG junta out there. I mean I have a cushy job with probably 0.1% pay of all SWEs(pretty much like all of us do). But these cookie-cutter roles have been taking a mental toll on me. Like I am getting paid but I feel a little purpose-less. What am I gunning for in this life? 

All my life I wanted to go to a good college to get into a good company. In college I wanted to get a good codeforces rank so that I could get into FAANG. Now that I am in FAANG I have nothing to look forward to. 

Any of you all feeling this way? Because I don't see myself offer-shopping and feeling much happy about that either.

Recently watched Soul on hotstar and this actually makes sense now. The character was trying hard to perform in front of a crowd and  when it happened he wasn't feeling any change at all. At that time, he was told about the fish and the ocean story :-

Hi 
I have been recently laid off from my company they have given me a reason as a lack in my performance overtime although that's not entirely true but to some extent it is.
I think according to my experience as SDE around 4.5 years.I don't have skills and knowledge one should have. I am a SDE 2 sometimes I think I still work and have skills as SDE 1 now I am looking for change 
Struggling with this thought of how to pick myself up as this condition is self inflicted 

How to get back ? Can anyone here help me?

Question to bachelors working in a remote job from a metro like Bangalore, Delhi or Mumbai and not living with parents. 

How do you deal with not having people around you ?
Does it get lonely sometime ?
How do you manage your day and schedule around work in general ?

Context :-
I've got a job offer from an Indonesia based startup and they don't have an office in India. 
I've never worked a remote job, except COVID and I don't know if I should work from the metro or go back home?

Benefits of Metro :
You get to be around people who work similar jobs.

Benefits of home :
You save money and life is a little peaceful there.

Remote job in Non-Indian Company

I work in company called "வேலைநாடு", they are mostly into blue collar hiring which sells plans to the needy. Almost 90% of their DB consist of blue collar workers but not limited to Field Sales Executives, Telecallers, Customer Support Executives, Drivers, cooks maid. They have four workspaces in one of India's metro cities. One office was occupied by Corporate Employee which has around 100 people and other was occupied by around 500 Telecallers and 100 others like process excellence, quality and so on.

Here corporate people are feeded with silver spoon, whereas operation team was not ever feeded with plastic spoon. Corporate employees has 4 restrooms with two back to back doors whereas entire operation block has only 4 rest rooms that too 3 for boys and 1 for girls. 

Corporate employees gets 2 days holidays a week along with 22 paid holidays and other holiday benefits for National holidays. But Operations Teams gets only one without paid holiday every month. Even that too. Holidays will be added to your account only end of next month. They have created a system where if you didn't login for 3 consecutive days, your termination mail will be automatically send to you.

Even the worst part is. Swiggy's owner know how much delivery partners because they are in the delivery field. Rameshwaram cafe owner knows how much cook suffers because he is in that field. Here the point if you are in same field you won't let your end employees suffer, coz you know their pain. But this company is in blue collar space. They did research on blue collar industry and use to post it in LinkedIn frequently. As per their research Neary 50% of blue collar workforce is fully dependent on daily wage. This company has planned to fire 50 customer care executives before a month due to a reason. They brilliantly have sent a mail stating revising appointment orders whereas the notice period was reduced from 30 days to 7 days. After a month. They have fired an entire team.

I am in a tricky situation with no hopes for promotion soon. Already spent a good 7-9 years of my career here. I want to take a break and rethink, maybe do an MBA or CFA Not sure whether I need a break or am being frustrated and lazy. Not sure if I will pick back that momentum I had in my initial career time.

Also an opportunity has come knocking at the door, for a completely new field when I was mentally preparing myself to disengage from work. What to do, ??

I know it's my decision, but a 3rd person speaking honestly would help me a lot! - Need some good advice!

I hate working 9 to 5. I simply hate it. I loathe it. I worked so hard all my effing life to get here and I hate it. I learnt DP and what not. It’s been 1.5 years since I started working full time as a software engineer and it just keeps getting worse. 
I make upwards of 15 lpa.
It’s not that I have a bad work environment, it’s great. It’s just that I feel absolutely rotten working a 9 to 5 as a software engineer.

Ideally, I would like to own a small business of my own. Despite watching hours of content on how to do that, I haven’t been able to come up with anything that seems like it’s gonna work, you know…

Thinking of doing an MBA but that’s BS too, right?

It feels like very soon I’m just gonna quit and be broke. 🤷🏼‍♀️
It feels like my life is over at 23. Kill me now.

My question to you is first, am I alone?,  second, can I help you in your business in any possible way?, third, should I do an MBA?

What do I do with my life?

Industry going nowhere. Unrealistic demands. Brands not wanting to work on demand creation.
