My PM is saying that TCS has freezed ASOC promotions from last year. Not sure how true it is.

Currently i am in C2 grade and my manager told that in Sept,24 they submitted my promotion request as critical (since it was pending from 1+yr) upon request from Senior management and HR. So any idea when that promotion might happen?

I have been hearing from multiple friends across organizations in India. Lay offs are not in news but happening silently across boards. Companies are on cost cutting mode. Interesting year ahead

 Was not knowing about silent layoffs happening. 
  
 But one interesting thing I have observed is that many organizations are now deliberately making the work environment more pressurised and/or toxic to reduce the headcount so that they don't need to layoff people.

Software Test - QA

I am on bench since 2.5 months. Most of the positions for which my profile was shared with is put on hold. I am regularly visiting the RMG and I am regularly following up with the managers with whom my profile was shared with. 2 accounts rejected me after Client Evaluation due to mismatch in skills. I have 4 YOE. Have heard stated rumors stating that TCS is planning to lay off benched folks after the elections. Not sure how far it's true.

Does TCS has any policy where they lay off folks who are on bench for more than 3 months?

I would like to say that Indian firms have made a joke out of critical titles such as Chief of Staff! 🤷‍♂️

In big tech; CoS is an extremely critical & cutthroat leadership role, equivalent to a Sr. Director but here anyone can be CoS at 4-5 yoe. 😅

Recently a similar folks applied for the role of L8 & recruiter pointed out that he is CoS & graduated in 2018.
