Anyone has any idea about online Master degree

We see that many reputed colleges/universities in India as well as abroad have come up with completely online versions of their Master's degrees for working professionals. It's also mentioned everywhere that we get the same diploma in the end as the offline degree. Do these degrees hold any value in today's world?

I’m only asking the people who are interested or have thought of doing an online masters to allow me to help them out. I’m not even asking you to take up our courses if you don’t like them. I’ll give you a complete and transparent understanding over here about the program that you’d be interested in. Since you know me here I won’t be able to make any false claims to sell you something you’re not in for. Besides since I’ve worked for multiple EdTechs and know people in the industry I can actually get you the right information and not just some sales pitch. Hello Everyone, I'm a final year student from a tier 2 college. I was talking to one of my friends, and he proposed the idea of pursuing a master's degree. I didn't have any plans of doing so before, but now I am considering it. I've been doing some research, and I am quite confused about whether it would be a good choice or not. There are numerous people on YouTube discussing the pros and cons of pursuing a Master of Science abroad. Some of the points include recession, permanent residency, fees, expenses, working hours, lifestyle, and the list continues. While these aspects may seem common, they appear more complicated given my current situation. To provide more context, I have been working a full-time job since my 4th semester and am currently earning more than what FAANG companies offer. If I choose to pursue a master's degree, I will likely be leaving my well-established job. Although I have the opportunity to work remotely, as I am currently doing, I am not sure if I would be able to cover my expenses with that arrangement. The reason I am considering this is to obtain a working visa that would allow me to work abroad. Thank you for your comments. Additionally, which country would you suggest for pursuing a master's degree? PS: Since I have been working alongside my studies, my CGPA isn't that high, its 8.15 as of now.

Hi I need some info regarding PhD programs done on the online format and it would be extremely helpful if any one of you can advise me here. 1) Are online PhD’s done abroad valid in India ? 2) Are online PhD’s valid abroad ? 3) Do we have any sort of programs where someone who is currently working can pursue his PhD simultaneously? 4) What are the benefits of completing a PhD for someone who’s currently working in a senior position in the banking sector. 5) What are the requirements for PhD? Checked online and it showed 55% in Masters. Thanks in advance.

A little background: I'm 2024 cs grad from a tier 3 university placed at Zomato as an SDE-1. Getting a good pay of ~25 LPA. Should I be considering a masters in AI/ML field, considering I've no prior knowledge of the field and I'm only attracted to it because of the recent rise of LLMs. I would be open for a masters from India or abroad. What are the pros and cons? Should I go for it? If yes then what's the path that you'd suggest if you've done it or someone you know who has done it? What would be some good universities to target? Or is it a bad idea?

Is it beneficial to do Online MBA or PGPWP from IIM’s, considering that the fees is ~20LPA and the classes are conducted online or on weekends. I am currently working in a big 4 with 5years of experience in tech consulting and earning ~ 30LPA, leaving current job will be a difficult decision, therefore I have been considering such courses. My current employer might not be able to give me any promotion on this basis but will it help in long run and help in switching to MBB’s ? Also, does the degree of these courses specify online or anything which sets it apart from regular course degree?

Take for example the IIT Kanpur E-Masters, I know that at a level, these are schemes for these institutions to make money, but do they hold any value, will the iitian tag be of any work ? I do want to pursue a masters but cannot leave my job, GATE doesn't provide any admissions in a good online masters. Any one with similar experiences? Other opinions ? There is OMSCS georgia tech, but I am not sure about that given my academic past. Anything 😕?

I am currently looking at e-masters programme (ms in ai & ml) by IiIT-h. It's self paced online only with 1-1 mentorship on weekends. Will be part of the alumni and placement (support only). I am considering this because my ug is non technical although I work in tech. Any suggestions would help too

I am looking for part time masters program online. Most likely in AI and robotics. Objective is to build some live projects and learn things since I miss college days building cool stuff. I lack the discipline to do it on my own. What are your views on this? And what programs do you recommend if any? Also feel free to share your stories with part time masters program :)

Okay I know the headlines sounds very gimmicky like a fresh out the boat 18 year old who’s just finished watching Wolf of Wall Street and is trying to sell you his “crappy” pen. However I’m only posting this cause I had seen people debating and wondering if they should do an online MBA / global MBA or which uni to do it from? I tried helping a few people and I know there’s still a lot of people who are confused so I just wanted to help them out like a guardian angel. 😌😂 Also if there are any other genuine counsellors here who can help people by all means go ahead and let’s just bring back some value to the title “Academic Counsellors” as it’s been really turned into a joke by some.
