Do online Master's degrees hold any water?

Take for example the IIT Kanpur E-Masters, I know that at a level, these are schemes for these institutions to make money, but do they hold any value, will the iitian tag be of any work ? I do want to pursue a masters but cannot leave my job, GATE doesn't provide any admissions in a good online masters. Any one with similar experiences? Other opinions ? There is OMSCS georgia tech, but I am not sure about that given my academic past. Anything 😕?

Hello everyone I have been thinking about pursuing my masters and I've seen many Universities providing online degree courses. Anyone has any idea whether these programmes are valid and should I go for it?

Is it beneficial to do Online MBA or PGPWP from IIM’s, considering that the fees is ~20LPA and the classes are conducted online or on weekends. I am currently working in a big 4 with 5years of experience in tech consulting and earning ~ 30LPA, leaving current job will be a difficult decision, therefore I have been considering such courses. My current employer might not be able to give me any promotion on this basis but will it help in long run and help in switching to MBB’s ? Also, does the degree of these courses specify online or anything which sets it apart from regular course degree?

I have a shitty bachelor's degree from tier 2/3 college that has been a hindrance in getting good jobs. Need a master's degree but full time MBA seems wasteful and expensive, since I already understand the basics of business and have bootstrapped startups from scratch. Are online MBA or master's programs any useful or helpful? Any recommendations? I'm on a budget, can't spend more than 5-10 lakhs.

I wanted to share my journey and seek advice on a concern I've been facing. After completing my undergraduate studies, I worked for two years before deciding to pursue a Master's in Advanced Computer Science in the UK, focusing on a thesis in Machine Learning as a part of course. This decision was driven by my passion for the field and a desire to advance my knowledge and skills.However, due to some family issues, I had to return to India after completing my master's. Since then, I've been working in one of the MNCs here again on developement with very less package 12.50LPA.My overall IT expereicne was 4+ in IT. Despite my efforts and the advanced degree I hold, I've noticed that my master's qualification hasn't been given much consideration; instead, my career growth seems to be solely based on my experience. I'm beginning to wonder if my decision to pursue a master's abroad has been more of a hindrance than a help in the Indian job market. I would appreciate insights from this community on a few points: -->Is a Master's degree valued differently in India compared to other countries? -->How can I better leverage my advanced degree to benefit my career here? -->Have others faced similar challenges, and how did you navigate them? -->Do we really need to have better network in India to go to big positions? I am currently looking at e-masters programme (ms in ai & ml) by IiIT-h. It's self paced online only with 1-1 mentorship on weekends. Will be part of the alumni and placement (support only). I am considering this because my ug is non technical although I work in tech. Any suggestions would help too

Is there any significance or benefit of doing online programs being conducted by top schools/ colleges? Is this only for getting stamp of these institutes on resume or benefitial for career?
