Apple Watch Series 10

I also got my first Apple Watch last month, being the Series 10. For the longest time I’ve believed Apple Watch (smartwatches in general) to be an indulgence - a gimmicky product at best. After a few weeks of use, my opinion hasn’t really changed, but it has softened. - I workout regularly, so it’s pretty helpful in tracking my effort and progress. (A Garmin might be better if you’re more serious about fitness though.) - Battery life isn’t as bad as you’d expect. It easily lasts all day, even with the always-on display. - I find myself Shazam-ing songs often, and it’s faster and more convenient than pulling my phone out. - Several of my friends also have Apple Watches, so the social fitness experience is fun. - I have disabled notifications for most apps, but allowed few key apps. So that way I can leave my phone on silent without the stress of missing something important. I generally check my phone less often now, as a result. - I don’t use many apps or features like Walkie-Talkie much. So maybe there’s more potential for engagement or fun, but that’s lost on me for the time being. All said and done, it’s a fun accessory that also helps measure and encourage fitness. Paired with an iPhone, it’s actually a decent way to reduce distractions instead of adding more of them. But it still costs a lot. So it’s definitely not a must-buy. However, if you can afford to spend 55k (including Apple Care) split over two years, it’s a decent addition to your digital devices collection.
