Avoid Bangalorean startups with Mallu dominance

Roads, Metro, Taxi Drivers arrogance, Corruption....Naah Speak Kannada first. I'll be as blunt as possible. "Supporting this behaviour will make life hell for non-Kannadigas in Karnataka and Kannadigas out of Karnataka." This CM has done nothing but spread hatred and divide Karnataka as much as possible.

In my org people have been creating that vibe where they are very sophisticated about their actions, the way they speak etc, they behave like we are working in a US based startup where they are using western lingo and all together a different way to communicate. I have worked in other startups in other cities but didn’t find this type of culture. Is this common or am I missing something? What are your thoughts?

Hi All, I think with funding winter, the work culture in Bangalore Startups is becoming toxic day by day. In my company, it started with filling the daily time sheet of what work we did, then why do we need work from home( Company gives 4wfh/month), then a circular came today that every data filled in timesheet will be minutely checked with card punches, can't be late even for 5 minutes more than 3 times a month. The hypocrisy part is employees are underpaid(5-6 LPA for software developer) and overworked(9+ hrs/day). I got to know one more startup where they have normalised 12hrs/day 6 days a week working and if you work less, it will affect negatively. They force their employees to reside nearby to the office so they can work till 12-2am from 10.30am. Is it common everywhere?

Came down from Delhi NCR for just two days. Everything here was sub par. Weather, traffic, offices, food, you name it

I was at a friends place and it suddenly started raining heavily. I had to reach my girlfriends place ASAP. She was already very angry that I was not spending enough time with her. The problem was that I was not getting any auto on Uber or Rapido. I stopped an auto and asked it for a ride. He quoted Rs 800 for a 4km ride. I was like, "Are you crazy?" I somehow negotiated it down to Rs. 500. But it made me wonder why is this city like this. Like everyone is trying to scam you. Every one is a grifter, from your landlord to auto wallahs to the cops. Have you faced such things in this city?

There is a reason why u r asked to get out of city. And locals don't usually say that to Telugus or Tamils or Marathis. It's predominantly aimed at a section from somewhere and a major reason is people from that somewhere are generally crap(sorry for stereotyping). 1. Be grateful for the local land, culture and set up. Problems exist everywhere, solve it if you can, remember that you were not born in a palace. 2. Learn the local culture, actualize it, propagate it. Massive influx of immigrants wipes out the existing culture. Onus is on you to not only protect it but spread it as well. If you don't then yes, u should get the fck out. 3. India is a mix of cultures. Just how Hindi is important a language so is kannada. Telugu or Tamil or everyone. Did you even know Kannada has won 8 Jnanapith awards(highest literary honour) vs Hindi's 11 despite the miniscule population of kannada infront of Hindi? Do you even know how rich kannada literature is? Do you really believe it deserves death in its own crown jewel(Bangalore?). Who do you think you are if you think this city should speak the language of people u come from but don't put an effort to speak the city's language. Live and let live. Yes that's a 2 way street. Onus has always been on you. After more thab decade of handing you guys an olive branch, now the city has realised our open gesture is taken for granted. Well, make no mistake we will teach you the right way. Onus is still on you!

I've been living in BLR all my life and been living in Gurgaon for about 4 months now because of company transfer. I thought BLR was bad until I came to Gurgaon. 1) The complete lack of apathy and compassion is off the charts here. People are so individualistic and small issues turn into huge fights. One example being a guy in a Fortuner hit my Hyundai hatchback from behind and screamed and made a scene when it was his fault and the guys all around supported him, I knew limited Hindi and I had to pay money to get the hell out of the place. 2) Climate and pollution: No words here. Extremely hot and polluted. 3) Rents have almost reached BLR levels or more 4) infrastructure: I thought BLR infra was shit but roads are non existent here and streets get water logged and stays waterlogged for 10 hours even after rains stopped lol. It feels like a dead City with no life, depressing and a concrete jungle.

It's crazy how this native-non native issue persists immensely in Bangalore. No other developed city like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune has this. Bangalore is going down big time with so much rising hate in the city.

I do not know why, but the startups at Bangalore (not unicorns), which are reputed but established but other startups saying they feature innovation , product-based innovation, increasing innovation, etc are all shit as most of their revenue comes from clients, and once they walk out, they are closed up, In last week, 3 of my friends got laid off and there are really tough times ahead. Any one here has experience with shitty startups in Bangalore?

NCR based startup are mostly lala run startup. recently a founder didn’t know what’s their interview process or why they want to hire , after making offer , they are saying we want to close position in next 1-2 months not now. i pity on investor who invested in them. also one more reason to never join ncr based companies.
