Lower level abstractions - sde1, 2, 3 would definitely be taken care of by copilots.
Higher level abstractions would still need great engineering at least for the next 7-8 years.
But, after working on ML for the past 9 years and LLMs for the past ~1.5 years, if you follow first principles and are able to define, prompt, iterate and fine tune well, no task seems unachievable.

He’s th OSS library - pycaret creator. I don’t think projection is the aim here . Faar too optimistic in his take , but not spewing gyaan that he isn’t aware of

It's more about the crux of being a software engineer. A software engineer is there to solve the problems, in the best possible way. If that is by writing code or using tools that aide you to do it in a better way, one should adopt to the change.
