Buying a house/apartment to live in Bengaluru.

How do you guys approach buying flat / villa in bangalore? Any good contacts if you can share would help ? Are online portals reliable for searching ? How was your house buying experience if you can share :) Please feel free to to post any recommendations as well. Thanks a lot in advance :)

I am currently in my mid 30s and I am thinking of purchasing a property near sarjapur road, and currently working as a software engineer in Bangalore, so I want to take the expert opinions of unsung heroes of the finance domain on grapevine. I have already paid the booking amount but still want to make sure I am making the right decision.

Considering the crazy high rent these days(talking about localities in Bangalore), what makes more sense keeping aside the emotional aspect. Buying a house or renting one? Side Note: I have looked at a calculator by Ankur Warikoo, but I don’t agree to the calculations made.

I am just relating with our parent's era how they could afford to get house and do so much with limited income at that time in 90s. But with our gen I keep seeing these exorbitant prices. Do you think and plan on making investment to buy, I know many folks have very good income here and it might seem not so tough but generally speaking how shd one plan to get these things into place for house, education, etc etc with such rising prices.

I have a budget of 1cr. I’d probably stay there for as long as I have to go to office. But that could change at some point. I am not a Bangalore native so I will go back to my native place. So I’d like to buy in good areas where it can actually be a good investment too. What builders to target? What areas to target? Any bad experience you’ve had with any builders or anything that you’d like to share.

New in Bangalore (just a year) Is it a good time to buy a property in Bangalore? If we want to look for a good 3/4 BHK, which areas should we target? Also, what should be the budget we can consider, based on the current market? My spouse and I have close to 95L to 1Cr in savings and investments. We can easily manage around 1Lac or more in EMI per month. Family can help more, it needed. Thanks.

Folks who bought real estate in Bangalore (primarily for living in it), what are some things that you wish you knew earlier before buying the property? Also what are some things you would advise to new folks who are looking to buy property now? I’ve been looking to buy a flat and have mostly finalised on A+ builder(Prestige) society but wanted to hear from experienced folks once. And I’m not a huge fan of taking hefty loans so planning to do around 50% in down payment and 50% in loan which I will aim to finish within 5 years. Is this a good approach??

A place which should have all kind of online services available (like swiggy, Zomato, zepto, blinkit.etc) 4. Preferably a gated community 5.
