Campus placement rounds are the biggest scams!

There is this one company which came to our campus offering 10.5L CTC and literally selected 251 students at a time when even our college (tier 1) is struggling to place even 50% students and maximum hiring per company is around 10. When you read this company's reviews online, the reviews are like they don't pay stipend for months and ask you to sell courses irrespective of if you are a developer. In fact, they ask for money from interns for 'charity' work. And the best part is, everyone who gave the test got selected, without any interviews. I think that college knows the reality but they still allow this so that the placements stats improve (adding 250+ students at a CTC of 10L really improves the placed percentage and the average package)

A Healthcare company giving 14 lpa asks to check if string is palindrome or not. And selecting candidates. SMH. I gave an interview for 7 lpa in a core engineering company, the interviewer asked easy medium leetcode

I secured an on campus offer at the starting of placements and my offer got revoked 15days before the joining and i am left with no options now, lost many good opportunities on campus. As i was already placed my tpo cell didn’t allow me to sit for other companies. So confused now. Now not many companies visiting college and the offer was 15Lpa. It was of 4rounds. Bit scared now as i was relaxed after the offer and stipped dsa. Now i have started again. But still so much confusion going on.

I am from one of an old IIT and haven't faced any ragging or harrasment from seniors over here apart from the freshers party where the seniors themselves told that if you are not comfortable then you can leave. Not one incident after that. Instead it has been a total opposite scenario and the seniors are too helpful here in a variety of ways. I have friends in IIT Bombay, Kanpur and Delhi and they too told me the same thing. I was very surprised and astonished when I found out that kids age 18 years old aren't engaged in ragging at IITs but adults age 23 years+ doing their MBAs are doing the same at IIMs. PS: I plan to pursue an MBA from an IIM in the future but such incidents are a big turn off for me hence I wanted to know the reality.

This is a personal win post. I'm a '23 grad from top IIT but from non circuital branch. I did my summer internship in a payments MNC as a Quality Engineer and received PPO, but I rejected it since I didn't want to continue in testing. This was when recession was just starting. The money was decent in PPO, but I felt I could get more in a dev role in placements. When placements came, I interviewed with few big companies, but unfortunately got rejected at some stage. Finally I got placed at Cogoport (yes that same cursed company), with a higher CTC but same base. I was initially happy with it, but as I talked with seniors I came to know about the horrors there, and a month before my joining I decided to take the jump and didn't join. My parents weren't supportive of the decision and I had to fight with them. I was trying offcampus for a couple of months with a very specific strategy, I got good response but none of them converted to an offer. I finally joined a seed stage startup through my friend as an intern for 3 months. I struggled a lot initially but eventually put in the efforts and learnt and contributed well. The work, culture and people are great here. Two months after I joined the startup, I got to know that almost half of the new joiners were laid off from Cogoport. And today is my first official day as a full time employee at the same startup I joined as an intern. The base is also the same as the other 2 offers, although CTC decreased but I have immense learning and responsibilities here and I'm sure I'll grow faster than my counterparts in big companies. what is the scene of placements of 24 batch in your college, which companies are visiting?

Looking for genuine and non diplomatic answers since it will be anonymous. It is upto you to reveal the name of the company you resigned from. Lets discuss!!! I will go first - I quit my last organisation (a famous UPI company) in 2020 because, they still are in old technology. No cloud computing, no kubernates, no terraform. Their entire baremetal infra are in 2 DCs (Mumbai and Bangalore). Leadership ideas are outdated. I was very much bored and looking for a change.

Many companies laying off employees while they're hiring parallely, if you know any such companies please share there name....so we don't end up joining such confusing workplace......
