It is fun sometimes but I feel that's 20% off it. There are 99 reasons wherein you feel like giving up daily but somehow you stick along & keep going. The stories we read online or anywhere else of riches are quite few but you feel a complete let down wherein somebody made insane money in 3 years & you are struggling for 5 years+ making some money but not what you imagined.

I run a profitable bootstrapped business for 5+ years & some days are hard coz everybody is hopping on new tech (eg: Crypto, AI) & you might be doing the same old stuff & don't know how to pick yourselves up to learn something new. People are getting funded & making insane money in secondaries, etc. 

Then dealing with bullshit on the internet. Everyone on LinkedIn is successful, putting numbers & gyaan. Some days are overwhelming & you feel being super rich comes with a lot of factors in your favor & tradeoffs as well. Bas, tumhara number aaya nahi hai ya shayad hi aayega. Rant over.

As cloud seeding is widely used by governments across the world to induce artificial rain, I wonder why Karnataka Government has not yet explored this path. They seem to have all the scientific support in the form of DRDO,ISRO,AIR FORCE locally available. 

Can someone throw some light on this?

Problem statement : Those who have money can pay for tankers but it's only promoting tanker mafias and black money now. Some of it pseudo controlled by cops and local politicians. Lake land also being claimed illegally by various parties including corporations. Sewage from industry and housing also joining lakes and rivers.

Govt supply is sketchy and difficult to improve. Need to start independent sources of water and revival of existing bodies.

Solution : Land around water bodies will need to be monitored for encroachments, cleaned up regularly and litigated for, to protect it. Similar stuff happening with aarey forest and metro project encroachment in Mumbai. Floodplain being encroached will make floods and water table levels worse, but it's prime real estate that can be commercialized and sold. 
  
All the lakes and rivers, vrishabhavati especially need to be revived and protected.

Homework : Check out million Wells project and connect with the founder, citizens for Bengaluru group, and read up on history of other revivals and their spearheads. Start water conservation efforts around your societies, basic rainwater harvesting should be in place at least. And yes, stop wasting water ofc.

Trying to think about how the lowest common denominator's problems can be solved.

Major issues that still persist in slums -

Housing and rehabilitation
Plumbing
Toilets
Water access

Could there be modular houses built/assembled in a day or two out of cheaper and lighter materials that are more durable than mud/dirt? Shipping Container houses being laid down using a crane was my initial thought, but cranes are hard to fit inside narrow lanes, so assembly might be better option.

Instead of constructing a complete cement and brick building somewhere, maybe some Lego housing would be easier. Might be possible to stack upto 2-3 floors. Maybe a porta-potty optional variant where plumbing for toilets isn't available. Rainwater harvesting and solar panels built on the roof maybe. Sink water should collect for use in toilet flush like it happens in Japan.

Apart from housing, for employment I was thinking about upgrading the hand cart that Indian hawkers use for selling veggies , street food etc. They are a pain to move around and use because they're bulky.

Features I'm thinking about adding -

2 floors of the cart, one where motor is kept (with storage area next to it) and second where stuff to sell can be displayed above the motor floor (some hand carts already come with a lower section but it is usually open). Covered on all 4 sides.

Once work is done, stuff can be stored inside the storage area on the motor floor, while owner can sleep above it. Convenient for those living away from home. Locking it up from inside instead of outside when sleeping in the cart, like an airplane lavatory lock. One seat in front of the cart with a steering wheel.

On the roof - solar panels that can charge a battery to operate a small fan, LED lighting & a charging port/plug for phones and small devices. Not sure if the panel can power the motor for a large cart, maybe electric motor if it can. Otherwise petrol/diesel motor.

Our summers are becoming dangerous with every passing day, gone are the days of your childhood where 35degreed  would be peak of the day.
It's not even April yet and the temperature is barely going below 30s even at night, and it's not specific to one place, across the India whoever I talk to shares the same experience,
And the sad part is it's only going to get worse, more trees will be cut down to build highways and infrastructure to sustain our population and its needs, we still have to pull out 100s of million people out of acute low income level.
Global warming will be our biggest challenge in the following decades.

This water shortage thing in Bangalore is pretty depressing.

There is an extreme shortage of water but no one on this planet seems serious about it. People are busy making memes around it , poking political parties , blaming the government. The government is blaming other governments and that's it.

Imagine there were 280 lakes in the city now there are only 15. Imagine once Lalbagh and cubbon park were connected and there were elephants living there.

How can a random land mafia dry up the lake and build stupid buildings illegally purely for their profits? They will profit from it but whose resources they took? Nature's resources that were meant for everyone.

That land mafia must be chilling in Atlantis hotel in the rooftop swimming pool and here we are drying up.

In the end , only the one sitting at the top would benefit from it and the one who will suffer is common person and they are still not realising how badly they will suffer in future.

If you don't have water what are you going to drink? 500 2000 notes smoothie? No amount of money can give water. These land mafias and politicians will import fresh water for their families to drink after depleting Indian resources. What are you going to do ?

And then this government brings  CAA law to bring more people to our country where the existing citizens don't have enough resources.

WAKE UP SAVE INDIA FROM POLITICIANS. 

Anyway , this is not a propaganda post against any political party because all parties are at the end corrupted, they will exploit everything to make money and then safeguard their family by sending them in foreign countries. The one who will suffer is us.

I am currently working in a startup as an SDE2 with 3 YOE, and thinking to switch to something good. Good in terms of both money and learning. Learning was exponential when I joined here, but now it doesn’t feel like. Should I look for some mid stage startups or FANG? I heard that FANG does not pay you much as startups. Help me with some pros and cons.

Am I the only one who’s seeing it more now? Wanna know if anyone has experience or views on this? I tried bamboo fabric vest and it wasn’t as good as pure cotton. Maybe bamboo made products thrive in different climate?

TL;DR

Silicon Valley is dry and dying in February.

Almost 2cr people live in Bengaluru and outskirts, dependent on kaveri, borewell and tanker water.

Kaveri water - Stalin and Sidda are busy in cage fight and at end they will abuse NaMo for this also.

Lakes are exploited by corrupt politicians alongwith bbmp, bda and corrupt beaureaucrats.

Borewell ain't working as climate change ruined water level due to shift in monsoon rain pattern.

Tanker mafia again ready to loot.

North India is lucky to have 3 all year river like ganges, indus and brahmaputra. Due to Himalayas glaciers they are all weather rivers

Sadly south India has 3 major river like godavari, narmada and kaveri but all are monsoon river.

Water was already having 1000 tds and now that water is also unavailable.

I will never buy those shitty 1cr houses at Bangalore or even land due to this water crisis.
