Having read quite a bit of bashing on a lot of companies and most of it is justified as well, as lot of the employees of those companies vetted for the information.

Let’s maybe for the festive spirit, try listing companies which we are part of, or aware of, that still have atleast 2 of the following:
Good pay
Good work
Good WLB
Good career progression scope

Should help people who’re in the job market right now.

Does anyone else feels that whichever company gets the certification of "great place to work" actually turns out to be a shitty toxic place? 

The irony of this!! The places which didn't bother about such certifications were so much better in their policies and employee first culture. No fucks given to any external validation.. just casually going about their business and letting the employees become their ambassador for postive word of mouth.

Sometimes it is really frustrating..we give everything for our job including our family time on important days but sadly it doesn't get recognised.....for the name sake the leaves are given and yes we take leaves only to update the same in the system for HR policies but actually we are working on the same day for extra time. Recognise the efforts during our performance review not the mistakes.

I work as a Product manager at a series A well funded startup.
This company is run by a solo founder/CEO.

This is a wannabe tech and product startup that does not care about their product at all. The internal review meetings get 5 minutes on product and 55 minutes on business and operations on a good day!

All they care about is how to run operations and tech just works on automation instead of building the product for the end user. Every OKR cycle runs for two months where OKRs are set for product but we end up building internal tools because things get "re-prioritised" and operations "can not miss targets".

The worst part is that the strategy changes every 2 months and every week, the CEO keeps adding new "wants". Almost like a baby seeing shiny new toys.
At this stage, the product has become a mess with no identity at all!

This baby always says "But is that even do-able" acts critical and tries to seem smart in front of their employees while lying to the investors and board every other week that we are a tech and product company.

I don't know if this happens at other startups in India. 

Would love to hear what y'all have experienced.

Identifying a Baby founder

You sound like a tech bro, who thinks that only tech runs the world. Huge companies like Tata, reliance etc are built on solid operations and business insights.  
  
 Tech is enabler, if the founder is smart with business and operations, most likely he will make a good business, and unless you start valuing things beyond tech also, you will keep hopping jobs and cribbing why people don’t value you.

People in my organization recently went through performance appraisal and like every time, the manager does not reveal employees’ rating. This is most likely a scam as the employees are rated and the ratings are recorded in the system but not revealed. Is it how we have in other organizations? Add your comments.

Saw a great place to work org sending a delivery guy to deliver door to door at 9.00 pm 
It was raining bad in that area here in Bangalore so I asked “no raincoat?” 
Guy says - no sir.. my company doesn’t give.
my friends - only Zomato and Swiggy have got.
Baaki.. ko .. Farak nai padta..

So I got to ask .. Kya karoge itna shareholder return deke, itna profit banake? Ki ek raincoat bhi nai de sakte.

Branding to wo aadmi kar Gaya Zomato aur Swiggy ka Jo Wo Khud bhi nai kar paaye.

One of the most toxic workplace I know just got awarded with the “grrr place to work” award (you know which award I’m talking about) 

Doesn’t make any sense whatsoever looking at attrition numbers and performance issues in the organisation.

We need better way to identify companies with good culture as these awards are no longer reliable

Lowest paid, least respected, Why?

Hi all

I am currently working as a business analyst for about 6 months now. Earlier was in a back end development team but was underperforming as could not really figure out what to do. I don’t like coding. The current role suits me but I don’t know if it has a good future.

Current role - Analyse old product (old code) (understand the complete functionality)
Suggest enhancements if asked for by the client.
Give demos to on-site people/developers
Test the modernised version of the product (started very recently. Called “functional testing”)

Can I switch to a different company with a good jump in pay in future? I feel like the work I do is not really considered worthy and hence there is no growth in this field. 

Please suggest how to move forward. Would like to work for another year or two and then go for an MBA abroad.

I want to understand (probably recruiters and folks who switch a lot can answer) if PM / SPM salaries have taken a hit due to so many layoffs, poor hikes, fear of losing job, etc. 
Want to know how much has it been impacted? And what is the new norm? Say for a PM / SPM with 4-6 years of experience, what should be the salary expectations now (vs 1.5 yrs before)?
