There are very few jobs for freshers in cybersecurity in india and those jobs also have very less pay. So it's not worth it to start cybersecurity as your first job.

The best way to enter into cybersecurity is to start with any software/IT job and transition slowly.

I have seen many professionals who started with any IT job and now are senior director of product and application security.

But that doesn't mean you shouldn't learn cybersecurity.
Cybersecurity will help you to learn each and every domain like cloud, database, webdev, programming, linux and way more. These skills will come in handy later.

 People get good jobs in cybersecurity and you can also earn good side incomes also through big bou ties and other freelancing like pentest so if you want to start in this field. 
  
 It is for people who have passion in this field.

I am still a student and I am really interested in ethical hacking. But i have no clue about where to start because I don’t have such a person with this interest around me.

2. how much time did it take to be called considerably learned (because i know for a fact that there is tooooo much to learn) ?

Most of the requirements i see for entry level roles are in between 3-5 years of experience. 
I’m actively looking for some roles in security engineering but only got 1+ year of exp and it’s been extremely hard to get any interviews.

I am feeling very low now.....i am in my early career days i have joined wipro back in 2022
After my Engineer. They onboarded us and provided us training in java after completion of training they put us on bench for 1 yr with no projects after that they started LOP (LOSS OF PAY) if you will not get tagged to project you will not get paid After that i got tagged to a support role (IT SUPPORT ) field services , from last one year i am working in it but no hike no nothing has been provided and also I don't want to work in this domain as i have several interests in cybersecurity field but due to no handson knowledge i am stuck 😭🙁

Can some one help me to guide what should i do next or can someone help to get job change

Hi Folks,

I am a penetration tester having 7 years of experience. Though I am doing pretty well in my current role, I am not feeling the impact it creates. Security is seen as a support function and does not bring real value other than audit reports for the sake of regulatory requirements.

Building something gives the real impact on thousands of customers. I want to switch to SDE roles, willing to put whatever the effort it takes.
