Does IIT/NIT tag matters??

Can anyone help me out with choosing course, i just finished my 12th few months back and want to pursue a career in computer/tech field because i am interested in programming computing and all that, but the thing is i dont want to do Btech mtech etc Bsc + Msc in comp sci / Data science Or BCA and then MCA in an NIT thru NIMCET These are 2 options that are in my mind, or Bsc and then MCA is another option, idk what to do further on and i am confused a lot

When we hear a person is from X IIT or NIT,we think they are smart. Irrespective of how he performed after he came into IT field or any field, he will still be treated on the top. His tag is for his life time. Jo diktha hain vo biktha hain as what people say, If you see he's from IIT or NIT, you will hire him. I was thinking this is not the case if you work hard you can beat them, intelligence is what matters etc etc all this is bull shit. Get a good IIT/NIT tag and you will be life time settled. Every jump you make people will see ur degree college subconsciously value you if you are from tier 1. Considering all this , since this is case with colleges, i feel if you are from google, Microsoft or such big tech other companies will blindly have faith in you. I mean again sane logic. My question - To have stable IT job, should i try to first get into big tech, and then even if i get laid off i feel i will be valued for my ex Company and then i can grab new offer. Should i do it ?!!! Btw im 25M fed up with this competition and i need some stability in life. Forgive me for English, its 12:28AM and these thoughts are disturbing me.

I have done btech from a tier 2 colg in civil engineering (2015 pass out). There after I worked for 2 yrs and left my job for UPSC preparation. Now after 4 years I am stuck without job. I want to get into IT sector, what should be the roadmap. My strengths: strong hold on mathematics, aptitude, and English. My weakness: never coded before. Shall I go for SDE roles or Data science. I am a bit confused because I am new to this field with no experience and a gap of almost 5 years

Hello everyone. I want suggestion/advice for career after 12th. I only given MAH-CET , but unfortunately I scored only 30 marks . I like tech and programming. So I am confused what should I choose B.TECH or BCA or DROP . Also I am not financially strong so what should I do ... I started working around 2017 never upskilled enough to switch and realised my mistakes very late Would my past experience be an issue if I get into good colleges like IITs/IISc By the time I graduate I would be around 33-34 maybe ? Is it too late to get into GATE. I also can't afford to go to foreign masters degree. I am single so only parents are dependent on me. myquals: BE in CS from tier 3 college in Maharashtra. Any experienced advice is appreciated.

This post does not aim to target personal egos Hello everybody , I'm a general category student with all India rank of 23k in jee mains out of 14lakh And 16k in jee advanced . The story of my life is I want to be a software engineer at this rank I'm not getting into my state nit whereas all my beloved friends at ranks of 50k are getting their (obc reserv.), I worked hard but feels like all my harwork drained in front of reservation . Also to mention my friends pity me haha Also a friend of mine sc category person Got into IIT Bombay Not any branch ppl,electrical branch 5 year at 25k rank in jee advanced sweet ain't it Check out my rank in jee adv and all I can get highest is iit kgp mining Out of all of this I secured admission in a iiit but it's fees is so much that what do I do , Sadly I'm from lower middle class family , the fees is literally 17 lakhs , also I'm a single parent child , living in a small town . THIS IS WHAT I CALL PAIN OF RESERVATION Literally everyday of counselling, ive wished that I should not have worked so hard because if I would not have such score then it would be easy to let go , and go to some 3rd class college with less fees Sometimes it feels ive lost hope , but still just being 18yr old I won't change my Hardworking nature I managed to learn c and c++ and now am doing some basic dsa . But I'm really pained by this system PERIOD.

I am probably earning 2x of what an average T-1 MBA grad makes in India. I'm just not happy in my role and this SDE grind caught me lackin'. Can you help me determine whether it is still a good bet to get an MBA? Because these normie MBA folks are literally the dumbest people I have seen and I think I can do a better job than them.

Hi everyone, I am an engineering student of IT (graduating in 2025) at a tier 2 college (a new iiit), and looking at the market conditions I have decided to pursue mba and have been preparing for CAT 2024 for the past 3 months along with placements preparation. Although I am pretty confident in my CAT preparation (I am getting decent marks in sectional and full length mocks), still anything can happen. And because of CAT preparation I also can't fully focus on my placement preparation (preparing for ML and data scientist roles). To do my best in any one of the two I will have to focus on that one thing so pretty soon I will have to choose one, what should I do? Even if I give my best for my placements I don't think I will end up with a job of more than 7-8lpa.(And this is best case) All of it is very stressful, financially also my family isn't very well to do.

Hi, I'm a fresher who just completed his undergrad from a tier 2 college, I have proper prior internship experience as a quant analyst and have in-depth knowledge about the financial markets but everytime I try and apply for Analyst positions at any major bank or a firm I end up getting rejected just bcoz my degree doesn't have an IIT or NIT tag on it, I don't even make it to the first round, I just get filtered out as soon as I apply, is there any way I can get around this, any particular skill I can work on that will impress the recruiters or will help me enhance my chances? Any kind of help would be appreciated.
