Grapeviners, can you, with all honesty convince a non-believer like me into getting married and having children. If you do, my parents will send a million blessings your way. 

About me: 
- Female, 28
- mostly introverted, very selectively extroverted
- single and normally attractive
- Jinxed when it comes to relationships
- Financially independent, Net worth: 1 cr
- not bragging, but I'm decently intellectual and I can have smart conversations

My reason to resist marriage is: I'm scared it won't work out and will cause bigger problems than being single. Have seen too many unhappy marriages in family and friends. Dating scenes in recent times have only made things even more unimpressive.

Anybody here who's in their late 20's and family is pressuring them to get married but you're not mentally ready for the responsibility because maybe first you want to achieve something or be in a better place mentally or financially.

For Indian families marriage is just a checkpoint on their long list of responsibilities like science in school, btech in college, gov vs pvt job and stuff. 

I guess marriage is much more than just a wedding. If you're not mentally ready to have a partner reasons could be multiple like maybe you want to achieve something before tying knot or maybe you want to be at a better place mentally or monetary.

Honestly i dont know how to frame this question 
I just need to know the perspectives of married as well unmarried people or maybe any advice.

I am 28 and have been single all my life. It was my decision to be single forever since when I was a child. I often have extreme urge call it -- tharak -- but 2 3 rounds of my hand and I am back on track. I never felt the need of any other person other gender to be their around me . I feel I am good alone and content. But lately parents are like sarcastically taunting that they won't be forever blah blah ... Basically saying me to marry but I have made clear to them and the most firm decision I have is not to marry ever. It's idiotic.. cuz why to marry ? 
S*x ? Thats it's right . So look at this way why to marry for the thing u can do without marrying and that too if u have some money then new dishes each month. This is when u want madly to have s*x else ur hand is self sufficient.
Am I missing something? Anyone who is not married and is ok or anyone who is married and now regrets or anyone who is married and for it ?

I know it's not a good platform to share a personal story but wanted to express myself. I am a software engineer with decent earnings working in Accenture and going to join Deloitte! My family environment is getting worse because of my father's drinking habit. We are not able have a normal topic with happy moment. Every-time I tried to have a discussion it gets into bad fight. I already had a pretty hard heart break and only option I have is family where I am not able to make things right. I am feeling as a failed as a child and not having any expectations from future. I am tired of toxic environment not sure till when I can handle this. I don't want to have any partner in my life as they will face things which I am facing. I suppose leaving life alone is good for me. Alone and happy.

I know sharing this will not change anything. Just wanted to tell everyone keep your family first priority. Without family high paying job will also not give any satisfaction.🙂

I’m 25, and lately all of my long term plans (travel, masters, moving cities) seem to revolve around the plan that I’d want to be married when I turn 30. I know that might be later than most people but I have this constant feeling that once I have a family with a child, my life would be different and that makes me want to do everything before I turn 30.

I don’t know if I’m being fair to myself.
