Downtime API aggregator project

1. Google Trends Newsletter - Giving weekly or monthly newsletter on trending topics according to the categories by scrapping data from google trends because there is no API available. I've seen some micro saas around this earning.
2. LLM aggregator - Aggregator means I am creating a single API for the most of the LLMs avaialble in the market and you have to just change the parameter instead of handling all by yourself. We will take care of versions and everything hassles.
3. Synthetic Data generator with the format provided through AI

Other ideas I am thinking around - Notion Plugin, Github Plugins, Slack Integrations

I have created a service in node and wanted to invoke the WA API to send messages to the user. Since the volume is really low (2 messages/month) I was wondering if there is a way to accomplish this task from any free APIs available. I researched using Meta’s WA api directly but when I am trying to take the App Live it is asking for business use case and stuff where the registered business should have a website and all hence hit a blocker.

Wanted to know if their is any free API alternative available.

I’ve had this idea for a SaaS since the last 2 years and I’ve been passively trying to build it into existence but no luck. I tried pitching the idea to few VCs and mentors, all of them seemed to validate it for potential. But again, these are people I know personally and unless they have their skin in the game, can’t take their praises to anything tangible in the absence of constructive criticism. Same case with friends who I talk to - everyone likes the idea, but doesn’t want to build it. The idea doesn’t seem interesting enough for them to consider building it even as a side project. Mostly I believe this is because the product targets an industry where there’s sufficient tech involved - yet very less techies who are building for the space. I’ve personally had experience tinkering with development, but haven’t built anything tangible to fruition ever from scratch. This idea has been around my whiteboard for over 2 years - seems like a super obvious idea for a much needed demand. Back then I thought someone would build it before me and kept seeking professionals for help, especially with no-code and AI code tools. Yet, nobody has seemed to move a needle and the space is largely under one monopoly (startup). I want to take it up as a challenge and build it on my own as a side project and see where it goes. Maybe if nobody has built it in 2 years, nobody probably will in the next year either. That’s good enough time for me to acquire my initial set of users. I badly want to build it bootstrapped, but I know that’s a far fetched dream especially given my lack of technical expertise. Hopefully within 6 months, I should have an MVP - that might attract potential cofounders or investors. Wish me luck, folks! 🤞🏽

What’s a startup idea you had but you never built it

I’ll go first. Mine was a high quality alcohol delivery service. But I later realised how difficult it is to pull it off due to regulation.

Do you feel like your work as a frontend engineer is meaningful and impactful enough towards the product you are building?

I feel like in most companies BE work is treated as more important. Most of your performance bottlenecks and production issues would also be related to Backend and hence those who work on it get more visibility.

I feel as an FE all my work is being limited till the feature is being developed and after that you just move to the next one. Kinda feeling bad about it.

Frontend engineering meaningful?

Me - a full stack dev who finds both of them to be meaningless. Just like my life.

I have been on a permanent wfh role since covid. Yes, been 2+ years since I stepped into an office. I stay alone and have little expenses but also 0 social life. Friends are all spread out. Not on any dating app because its exhausting. Can someone just talk about any impacts on their personal life from work life? Does anyone here feel a void too? I’d love to connect.

I have been working remotely and honestly, I don't want to go to office ever (at least that's what I feel right now) 
  
 I don't want to become besties with my coworkers, and I stay with family so I'm very happy spending all my time with my favourite people in the world! I also have the option of traveling and have decided to take an out of Delhi trip every 2 months at least 
  
 I might be biased, because my parents and immediate family are professionals as well and have home offices, so all my life, I've had the kind of atmosphere where offices don't play a huge role, so I'm happy! 
  
 But yes, I suppose I do get the socialising aspect, it becomes harder to make friends as one grows older, especially when all your school/college friends have office jobs 🙃🙃

Hi All,

We are building a B2C product and anticipating 2.5lac DAU. Shall be starting with a small team of 10 engineers. Could some one suggest a cheapest tool that will have 
1. Metrics
2. Logging
3. Correlation of the above 2. So preferably both of them in one place.

I have used datadog in the past and really liked it but it is out of our budget for now. I am thinking of using ELK with Prometheus though system metrics and logs will be separated. And with aws cloud watch, cost is a concern and do not want engineers to look at AWS dashboard for all debugging and monitoring purpose. ( We might also use Azure or GCP later, if we get startup credits. So then separate tools for logging might be an overhead.
 
Anyone from past experience, any suggestions?
