Feeling to Quite corporate job and give time for hobbies and family

I have been into programming since I was 15. I have been working in the IT industry for the past 8 years and have been very successful in my domain because of my will to solve problems at work as interesting puzzles. But this interest has slowly and gradually formed a huge part of my life to a level that if I am away from it for sometime, it gives me anxiety. I am afraid this will affect my other parts of life like giving attention to my family, spending ample time with them. As a process, I started to have no code Saturdays so that I am completely away from my laptop and spend time doing other mundane things. But this has not reduced the anxiety. Any suggestions for reducing my workaholic nature ?

Finance and personal : DINK, but planning. No major savings or investments. Will be only a few lacs (10-15 lacs) before the baby is here. Wife will be off the job for a couple of years. Will be living pay-check to pay-check on my income, with a family to support. Struggling with health. Gained 20 kgs in 3 years. Putting efforts to undo this, but struggling. Professional: 8 yoe+ in Product management. Current employer not aligned with long term personal goals ( post 5 years type goals - tier 2 settle in, remote etc ) No increment since quite a while…company is growing but slowly. Mentally: Nothing is making sense. In the larger scheme of things, nothing really matters. Inertia is there to change job. No motivation to work at all. What will I even do after a job change ? There is no excitement of the same. No excitement of starting up myself either. Something doesnt feel right. I used to be the powerhouse of energy and motivation, a while back. Now I’m just the opposite. Is it fatigue speaking ?

I have total 9 YOE and Accenture is my second company. I have spent more than 6.5 years in Accenture and currently at level 9. My total package is 16.5 (15 fixed+ 1.5 variable) . I work in Accenture Operations. I believe my package is low. Moreover Accenture India employees didn't get any increment in base salary this year. I have to buy house, car and manage my household expenses for nearly 11 members. What should I do?

I have in tech for about 5+ years and feel no urge to work. Every morning I feel like quitting and just relaxing for 6 months - 1 year focus on health and self. But then without salary how will I manage in long run. I want to know if this is me or others feels so as well and wanted to ask people who have 10+ years of experience how do you guys manage to work in corporate for this long

I have observed and experienced the way IT engineers and many other similar professionals are working a lot, spending nights and day, constantly hooked onto laptops, many of us are losing a lot of hair, have dull skin and face a lot of other issues. There are a lot of issues that we don't observe like fatty lever, cholesterol, vitamin deficiency, back problems and many more. These problems don't surface in 4-6 months or a year. They will be there when we maintain unhealthy lifestyle over couple of years. Have seen people in 35 looking like 50 with grey hair, dull skin and unhealthy. Have seen a lot of people spending day and night on laptop voluntary even after having kids. I am 100% sure no family would want to see you guys working all night. What these people will tell their family is I have a lot of work when it's not the case

Hi everyone , as the title mentioned i am getting tired with this corp culture. My managers are giving bullshit timelines for tasks and expects me to finish it. Now i know u guys gonna give me advice to switch on mncs but my friends at mnc are also saying same things. I am just really getting fed up . Its just been 2yrs for me. Expect salary i could never find anything good in it but i really dont see a long term career in this .

I have been recently feeling very lost and confused in life. I do have a loving family and a stressful job and somehow i feel I am not at all happy from within. My job is shit and gives immense pressure. I have just entered my 30s and due to this sedentary lifestyle I have developed health issues such as pollen allergy, have gained weight :( the way i used to look like probably 2 years back, i dont look like that now. Want to use this space to start a thread with people dealing with same situation and ways to cope up the stress and get this to a better track.

Goin through a mid-career crisis atm. Overall exp 18 yrs in a mnc bank drawing close to 60 laks CTC. But the growth is stymied and don’t hv visibility of what’s the Development path and how can I get there. Mulling to take a break and prioritise but have some leverage to manage and kids savings. Wife is working atm but draws significantly lower than me so will have lifestyle challenges if I quit. Open to hear suggestions from folks if you’ve had similar experiences and how you managed it?

I am working atleast 12 hours daily for the past couple of months and now i feel this is taking a toll on my mental health. Increment was pathetic variable is slashed and I don’t see any light at the end of this tunnel. What should i do in such a situation. Any suggestions please. The fact that things have gotten so bad that i am now contemplating a change in career. IT sector seems good from outside with all the money and stuff but from inside its a dark dark place. I need some suggestions what should i do? Should i leave or continue to work hoping that things might get better after a certain point of time?
