Which country is best to work as a software developer. I am an SDE 1 in India planning to go abroad.

India to Abroad

Off late I have been contemplating moving out of India given the work culture, pathetic pay scales, bad governance etc.

Which is the best route to do so? Should I check with immigration consultants? I saw that Aus, Canada have skilled worker shortage. Will that help my case?

Are there companies who are willing to sponsor visa? Any success stories that you can share. 

What are my options so I can make the right move ?

PS. I am currently a PM (MBA+B.Tech) working for a US based company (remotely). 10+ yoe.

I am interviewing at Tesla Germany and my girlfriend is studying at University of Freiburg. She is now forcing me to come to Germany. What should I do? I think India will become the greatest country in the world and I want to stay here for growth but she is saying that life here is sad. Germany is much better according to her where she goes clubbing in Berlin and often travels between Germany, France, Italy and Netherlands whenever it is her semester break.

My girlfriend wants me to come to Germany 🇩🇪

As much as i love India, the high taxes and not getting equivalent infrastructure in return seems like a pain.

I'm curious about the salary structures that MNCs follow or Expat assignments given to employees hired in India that excel and get a chance to work in offices outside of India. There's very little clarity on how specifics are determined, at least that's the case in our company. If possible, try to cover these aspects in your answer: 
1) Duration of these expat assignments: Is it few months/few years/permanent? 
2) Salary of India office: If the expat assignment is temporary, is it the norm that over and above your expat salary, you'll continue receiving your India salary tax free? 
3) Once the expat assignment is completed, are you expected to come back to India office and give KT to others, or you'll continue doing more expat assignments? 
4) What perks/allowances do you generally get as a part of the expat assignment, which you did not get in the India office? 

Please mention any other relevant aspects or weird incidents that you might have encountered first hand or of someone else going on an Expat assignment.

Fed up with work culture in india, I am thinking about moving to dubai. I have around 4.5 yrs of exp (MNC + Product based company, bangalore) in software development. I have degree from tier 1 college. 

However, I don’t know anyone personally who has shifted to dubai. So, i have a tons of questions before i make up this decision. 
1. How is work culture at tech companies there?
2. How is lifestyle there compared to bangalore?
3. How expensive is there? How much would I be able to save on average?
4. How is dubai treating you so far?
5. How hard is it to reallocate there with wife?

If you are working there, your opinions/inputs will be extremely valuable for me to make decision.

Salary structure for expat assignments in MNC

Confused if i should go for MS CS from USA or stay in India, how would you decide?

I have almost 5 years of experience as a software engineer in India.

Its been a long time now, that i am confused if i should go to US for MS considering i will have to take up a loan of 50 lakhs.

Also the layoffs are here, probably scenario will be good once the MS is over (May ‘24) , and i might be able to repay the loan.

It seems like a huge step and a risky one.

My motivation for US are
1. Foreign Exposure and Experience
2. Bank Balance for better retirement in India
As IT is uncertain and we never know what might happen in future.

What are your thoughts on this, what factors should i consider?

As a 24-year-old, lately it feels like everyone wants to move abroad.  I've noticed a growing trend among my peers and even older generations: the desire to leave India for better opportunities abroad.

Most of my cousins have moved to the United States while many of my friends are going to Germany/France/Netherlands. 

I am still unsure. I have faced SH in this country in public places and so have many other women I know.  My parents have always encouraged me to pursue my dreams and if I decide to go, they will fund my education.

Hence asking this. Is it worth the high taxes we are paying in this country to stay or go abroad make some money and live life for ourself?

What is making you stay in this country?

I'm already making 32L base in India. That's why the opportunity cost seems high.

After living in Bangalore for several years, I reached a breaking point in 2020. I was stuck in traffic on MG Road, surrounded by honking cars and the smell of pollution. Later that evening, I went to a café on Brigade Road, hoping to unwind, but the harassment I faced while walking back was the final straw. Some idiot bike rider groped my butt and fled away in the dark. I was left shocked and grief stricken. You can't imagine how many showers I took that night and cried myself to sleep.

A college friend in Toronto sent me a picture from a local festival, showing people dancing freely in the streets, celebrating without a care. It hit me hard, I craved that sense of belonging and peace.

I applied for a master’s program abroad thereafter. By 2021, I was on a plane to Canada. The first time I wandered through the snowy streets of Toronto, I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. I knew I’d made the right choice, and since then, I've embraced every moment.
