I'm a Software Engineer with ~4 years of experience. I'm thinking of switching companies and grabbing opportunities abroad and eventually settling there. I'm planning for the Netherlands or the UK, mainly because of the standard of living they provide.

However I've also heard of people returning to India. Can anyone here share their experience or know someone on how is life living abroad?

Due to financial difficulties, I couldn’t afford college in past so had to dropout. But after working in different startups for 4 years I am financially independent now.

Currently, I am working as a product manager in one of the startup in India. But, all of the startups I worked for were > A series in terms of funding.

Can I get a working visa in European countries or Australia?

What should my next move in upcoming years? Working in some foreign based countries as a remote employee? Or should I get a working visa first in some country and then apply for remote jobs?

The reason to move out from India is less pay and work life balance. I am planning to move back to India after few years of working in abroad as It would help me to save some money to venture my own startup.

Which countries provide working visas for dropouts?

Getting offers from Germany, Spain for 100000 euros per year.

What should I choose? Relocating to Europe or stay back in India? How are savings in European countries compared to India? 

I know quality of life will be better in Europe. But is it true that you feel alone there (being away from family)?

After reading replies in grapevine for dystopian policies, HR policies, work culture, companies to avoid(looks like all companies should be avoided), related questions I'm kind of regretting as I took the decision to stay back in India and not pursue masters abroad to live with my parents.

Given how pathetic the work culture is in almost all the startups(I'll go with 99.99%), politics and poor work life balance and living in a country where I don't get any tax benefits even after paying 30+% direct income tax, is it really worth living in this country anymore ? I'm feeling very sad, looks like I missed the opportunity to go abroad as I'm 25 now. Only my love towards my parents is holding me back since they both are around the age of 60 and I don't want to be the son who will make crores of money abroad and not be with them in case of any emergency. I'm don't want to leave them alone. Looks like there is no hope working in India. 😔

Folks I’m thinking of moving to Europe from India. I’m a software developer with 1.5 YOE. I want to move to Europe to explore different places in Europe and experience life outside India. My main goal is not to save a lot of money (I’ll be okay with saving as much as I save in India). I want to work outside India for a couple of years and then return back to India. 

What are your suggestions on moving to Europe? Which country is best for software developers in Europe at the moment?

What are the companies in Europe that are sponsoring visa? How should I prepare for interviews in Europe.

Suggestions on Moving to Europe

I feel moving outside India is better for people who wants to stay in tech . If people are 15 yrs experience as developers they are replaced or they have to move to mgmt . Very few opportunities for solution architects in India or just retire as senior developers. People work in Denmark , Finland , Australia, Switzerland can retire as cobol developers or . Net there is no need to constant upskill . Salary is less or growth is less compared to India but you have wlb and life . Think do all of us have to run for growth , work for startup or hustle to create his own. Most young  people in India wants to leave the country as cut throught competition . Do you all agree

I am basically confused, I really want to experience other culture in general; but for me in India I cannot experience or explore anything other than work like 24/7 availability, late night work and the current work requires me to work in US timezone and let us address the elephant in the room taxes in India, now hear me out taxes in EU are high but the benefits are good compared to India like WLB (especially being an SRE/Devops), less stressful work environment. I do not want anyone to mess with me after 6 PM post work.

I feel risk >>>>>>> regret 

I got an admission at a University in EU region but I am seriously contemplating the possibilities ?

I would like to move abroad to a developed country and settle. My priorities are work life balance, ecosystem for entrepreneurship and income. 

Note:- I should be able to get a PR in these countries in less than a decade.

There's obviously the advantages of making more money and having a better lifestyle.

But given the sacrifice on your circle of friends and family in India, is over indexing on just professional outcomes a sensible enough thing to do?

   Wanted to know your opinions and if someone has walked similar path before. 
   I am in infrastructure engineering domain, want to transition into core backend with full stack. 
   I have roamed around abroad and found really great quality of life -
   1. Food quality is damn good!
   2. Spending power when you travel with that currency to other parts of the world
   3. Disciplined
   4. Power of people, where the rules are same for all. You are just as powerful or weak as a politician in regards to upholding the law. 

I like these concepts and want to explore living abroad, learning cultures, traditions and people. 

I was thinking of getting into a Europe based company(understand the pay would be less but I get to roam EU countries with better work life balance) for my backend role and leave my current job to prepare for it as my entire day is sucked off by this current high paying job and it's not fun anymore

Tldr -
Not happy with my current life sucking role at startup. Have experienced better life abroad as a tourist. Want to switch to a job abroad and experience customs, traditions, people, culture, languages!

To be honest, I initially didn't have any intention of leaving India, but due to certain ongoing issues, I'm now considering pursuing an MBA or MS abroad. Here's my background:

I completed my engineering degree with average academic performance, not being a top achiever.

I have four years of work experience in Finance and as a Growth Manager at Fintech companies.

Now, I'm contemplating gaining more skills through a degree and job abroad. What steps should I follow, and do you have any recommendations? Additionally, which exams do I need to clear for this?

I am working remotely at a SaaS company for 4+ years now. I started working since my final year of engineering. I joined here as a software engineering intern when the product was really new and booming. I have gotten bored of my work now, especially since I have been working from home all the time. I have very little social life. And I am getting fixed salary of about $1400 each month. I am thinking of switching to any Indian startup because I am not happy with my job being so monotonous and less pay at this level of experience. What should be the approach to crack the interviews? I have done DSA practice during my college days, but didn't crack any interviews with it. I am a full stack web developer but it doesn't excite me anymore and I want to stick to backend roles. And is it possible to crack an interview with for 30-40 LPA at this stage? Or do I have to climb up a salary ladder for a couple of years?

I am 31 M and am married with no kids as of yet. 

I have been to the US for my master's and also did a job there for some time. I came back to India in 2020 due to visa issues. 

Ever since then I have been thinking of going out of India, maybe to Canada (or nowadays Nordic countries are also accepting immigrants). But I am confused and unsure of what to do. 

I feel stuck here at my current job and feel like I haven't grown much. There are a lot of opportunities in other countries and the biggest motivation is lifestyle upgradation.

On the other hand, going to other countries would also mean a lot of struggle at this stage of my life, which I did the first time around when I went to the US. Plus there is this war situation happening in multiple countries. No one knows what will happen of that.

One more factor is - India is also doing fairly well and is seen as having the maximum growth potential in the next 5-10 years

What do you suggest? What are the points that I should consider? 

Also if I were to try to move out, which countries would you recommend I look at? What are the benefits?

Should I move out of India?

I'm an SDET 3 with 9yrs of experience and working in London for the last 3 years. 
I've got an opportunity to change my employer which is offering a £72k package. 
Also, I have an offer of 28L in Bangalore city and I'm sure I can get at least a bit more than this (around 32-33L)

I have a wife and a small kid and wife is also having a job here in London.

I will complete my 2 YOE as a Software engineer in India. I want to go outside of India and work in USA / EU/ Singapore or any other developed nation and experience how is the life there. 

My current company is Isarel based but they don't give any opportunity like on-site. Please suggest me ways what steps should I take to achieve this. 

I don't want to go for a MS degree.

How to land a software Engineer job outside India in some developed country

So my sibling is about to graduate with a degree in Computer Science from a T2 college in a few months and wants to now do MS in the US because of three reasons: 

1. Low levels of violence against women(Sexual Assault) [IMPORTANT!!]
2. Want to do innovative work in the US instead of working on copycat products in India
3. Ambition of living in the US long term because of free-er culture

But my parents have flat out refused to fund the education or even help her with a loan due to regressive mentality (nahi jaana baahar, 2-3 saal kaam karo aur shaadi karo chup chaap)

She has accepted a job offer for now and will make 14L/year. What are her options? Should she drop the idea of MS abroad?

What to do if your parents refused to fund your education(MS/MBA) abroad?

Two options -  
  
 1. As I read, she will making 14L, save aggressively and self fund herself to MS. Places like UoCincinati or Texas univs aren’t that costly. She might able to score a diversity scholarship/waiver as well. 
  
 2. Start looking for Germany based unis. They have minimal uni fee, she just need to maintain the living expenses.  
  
 My 2 cents - Working for 2-3 years before MS will bring more clarity and increase the RoI of investments.
