Soo I’m recent graduate with around 8-9 months internship experience looking for a full time job. However, I am also interested in the Digital marketing apprenticeship offered by Google (a few people from my college got in last year) which is why I am also thinking of giving it a try.
Now the thing is- I’ve heard the stipend offered by them is just enough to sustain yourself and you’ll have no savings whatsoever. considering this is a 2 year program and I also wish to do my masters in 2025, should I go ahead and apply for the same or take up another Well-paying full time job??
There is an opportunity to continue full time after the apprenticeship ends, but again that’s not guaranteed.
My main reason for pursuing the apprenticeship- the “Google” title and the experience that follows. (which will obviously be a lot more helpful in the long run)
Reasons for not wanting to do it- want to travel internationally, want to do my masters abroad in 2025 and have enough savings.
(Also, my parents want me to get married in the next 2-3 years sooo that’s there too!)
I've heard really bad things about the Google apprenticeship program. Firstly you won't be converted to full time roles after completing the apprenticeship program even if you perform well.
Most of the time you won't get any work to do.
Google conducted a career fare for data analytics apprenticeship students this year and the only company they called was tech mahindra and wipro 🌝🥲
Why would Google call tech Mahindra instead of hiring themselves?
From what I've heard, google made a policy not to hire people from apprentice program. If they want to work at google, they have to angane apply to any relevant post after thier program gets over and they also won't get any special consideration.
Ps- I know a person who's currently enrolled in the program.
