Got fired for using betting apps and trading on company laptop...

Everyone knows you are not supposed to use company laptop for anything personal. This startup I used to work part-time for during college had some monitoring software on their laptops.

Somehow intimate moments were leaked of someone on the team, she slammed such a case on these fuckers that the entire startup almost got wiped out in legal fees.

in the US and other management her. They keep on forcing to use WebStorm instead of VScode.
Have provided shitty dell windows laptop which cant even handle webstorm running.
How can I handle?

Is this sarcasm ? Apple UX is far ahead of windows . Though I haven’t used windows in a long time , maybe they have improved . But all I see is that all windows brands are copying Apple design.

I am a 2024 graduate and have received GE Digital 6M Internship offer and performance based PPO.

Can anyone please tell me how is the company's culture and work?
How to make the best out of it and any tips.
Also which laptop do they give? Windows or Mac?

Hello folks 👋 

I want to buy a laptop for personal usage. I will be using it mostly for media consumption and web dev. 

I have had a very bad experience with windows laptops in terms of hardware and battery life after a year of usage.  

Should I buy a MacBook Air with 16gb ram / Macbook Pro or should I trust a non apple laptop and slap a Linux distro on it call it a day ? 

Please share your experience or the machine you guys are using.

Ps- I am using a 16 inch Mac with M1 pro and 16gb ram but I feel I am not using it to its full potential hence it might be a waste of money for a personal laptop

I know that some companies are really good at sourcing excellent hardware while others cut corners in this space.

Company hardware you received

Business Analyst

First round happened in March. 130-140 engg.
Around 40 engg were fired.
Then some silent layoffs happened in different teams like hr. 
Then Few good enggs left the company.
This week another round happened with around 20-25 enggs

Another layoff at the most overvalued unicorn startup.

‘Most overvalued unicorn’ You have any idea how little that narrows it down 😂
