Just ask for 3 more moths extended maternity leave which is Lop. Later you can also exhost all your remaining leaves and can search for good opportunities within that time.

Doesn't LOP come with strings attached? Wouldn't they expect me to stay at work for sometime after that?

You can say no to your previous account and can be on 90 days bench period. In this period you get salary. I have recently joined new company but I’m not getting anything the work life balance is worst should I switch again ? And if I put resignation will the next company ask me the reason what to answer in that case.

I work for a start up and am currently on maternity leave. I am supposed to resume my work from the 2nd week of may. And My husband has to move to a different country for work. He is moving early next month.

So I will have to take care of some of his responsibilities here, while he is away from home. Having a 6 month old baby and my father in law to take care of as well. I have decided to take a break from my career and sort things out. Once my husband settles down, we will move there and then I'll start looking out for opportunities.

Now the question is, since I'm resigning during maternity leave and the project has no dependency on me. Can the manager or HR ask me to serve the notice?? Or will I be given an immediate release? 

I want an immediate release. Please advise!

Am I the asshole?

After a few months clear to me an employee was taking company for a ride. Average a few days a week in the office, otherwise sick/on errands, delivered no work. CTC 55L.

Before I could fire her, she announced she was taking Maternity leave a few months into the job. Well crap guess I need to pay her for 6 more months more because of laws I don't understand. Rip my bank account.

She returns, same issues. I put her on a pip & she resigned telling me I'm sexist and it will be hard to find a new job now. I say sorry, performance was bad, she can do pip and stay if things are better. She askes for 2 months salary and i agree.

A lawyer calls telling me I need to pay more or they will file a case. Said I discriminated to her, and it's not legal.

I think this person is a bully/psycho/self entitled. But am I the asshole?

 Sometimes things are genuine sometimes u come across opportunists. You can never fully get to know what is the actual situation. 
  
 She might have genuine problems but if the conduct aint good, to hell with it.

I've been at a firm for 5 months, Received an offer for 4x my CTC, But I need to join in a month (notice period is 3 months) what to do?

I am thinking of leaving my current job and focus on myself, getting to know myself better etc. Currently I have enough money saved for my expenses for next 6-8 months. 
   Everyone I have asked about this say don't leave your job if you don't have another lined up, in this tech winter. I understand their view point. It aligns with what my parents think as well.

Is there anyone who has had done this in the past? Do you recommend this route? Are the consequences far too severe? Does anyone have a different opinion from one stated above?

Anyone ever left job without having another job lying around for their mental peace?

I'm in the same boat, on the verge of quitting, and will most probably take the leap next month.

I have seen pseudo feminism happening everywhere around which has just wasted everyone’s time and energy over debating for false narratives. Does feminism really matter or it brought any change in corporate lives. If yes then why still pay parity exist and why projects have been given on the basis of gender but not on the basis of skill and experience? What’s your take on this ?

Hi. Does anyone know if taking a sabbatical during pregnancy can lead to the company using this as a reason of non-performance to either fire the women or not provide her with the maternity leave benefits?

1. Company is aware that the person is pregnant
2. Person in question has been with the company for 2+ years
3. Past appraisal ratings have been 'Exceeds Expectations' or 'Meets Expectation'
4. Sabbatical period could be 1-2 months. Maternity leave will not immediately start after the sabbatical

I am a recent BCA graduate , from tier 3 college. I was hoping that i would get a chance to work on amazing techstack when i joined Deloitte but unfortunately they onboarded me pretty late and i had already rejected offers for few organisations for the role of SDE, junior AI/ML associate and so on in the respective field. I did this because i was hoping that Big4 is a better place to learn and grow. When i joined in Feb 23 i was given training on Software Testing where i don’t have interest and i tried reaching higher ups but they told i might get a chance to work on tech i am interested in when i get projects. So i pursued this and got project on Testing as well, there also people said if you want to work on other areas there is no guarantee but you can help the developers as well and learn. Maybe you will get the chance to shift from QA but no guarantee. 
I am so frustrated with my current position, wherever i am applying they are not hiring me for the reason of having irrelevant experience and i can’t do internships as my family condition is not good and i have to constantly support them. I am stuck between quitting and taking a break due to financial problems but if i continue this how will i build relevant experience and switch to a different organisation. 

I request everyone to kindly help me getting a clarity, what should i do ? 
Can anyone help me get a different job role somewhere else? 
I am open to work in the field of Data and AI , Analytics as well.

I don’t see anything wrong with this. It’s clear that the agenda is not to give additional leave benefit, but to normalise women taking period leaves. At present,  women usually use a different reason (headache/fever/backache etc) to apply for leave, while the actual reason is period pain/discomfort. Not every step is meant for a material benefit, you have to see the intangible value to the society.
