How do you keep yourself motivated and disciplined. I almost forgot that this is a new year. Yes, I'm supposed to be motivated and work on my resolutions 🥲, I often find myself settling for less and slipping into a comfort zone. 
Occasionally, I get bursts of motivation and make plans, but I struggle to stay on track. My attention span has reduced, and I easily get distracted, especially with phone notifications. I've tried digital well-being tools, but the real solution seems to be strict discipline. 

How do others tackle this issue? I'm eager to learn from different perspectives and strategies.

I’ve often found myself in a position where friends/family are planning a trip or something else which is unsuitable for my budget and I struggle in saying NO to such things. As a kid I’ve seen my own parents bail out of things sometimes by clearly calling out the budget constraint and sometimes by making some other excuse. But unfortunately I’m not able to clearly say NO citing budget issues. I usually make some other lame excuses which sound pretty stupid at times (I’m weak at lying) mostly because I don’t want people to see me with eyes full of pity.

For example, folks in my closest friends circle come from a pretty wealthy family and even right now they earn easily 50%+ more than me so their plans are mostly unfit for my wallet. One time I had to refuse to participate in their trip just because of budget and I could sense the pity that they had for me at that moment or another time I could feel them being disheartened because they had to compromise a bit with their plan so that it could adjust with my wallet. In each case I felt really uncomfortable and since then I’ve been using only some other excuses to escape from such plans.

So my question to you folks is, if you’ve ever found yourself in a similar situation, how have you dealt with it? Any suggestions for me on how I can handle it better?

Does anyone else feel like the PM interview process is easily scammable? I feel like 80% of it is a vibe check and 20% is the actual content itself.
Am a PM with 3 YoE and have been interviewing around recently. I have 0 preparation for any interview I walk into and have gotten offers from multiple startups. (Not bragging, I'm a good talker)
You need to just break down any questions into understandable parts and explain it well enough.
Maybe it's imposter syndrome or maybe I'm a little disillusioned with my job.

The PM interview is broken

I recently started interviewing after a period of about 5 years and I am very surprised about the change in the way interviews are conducted these days. I have now interviewed for few companies like Sitetracker, Avance Clinical, Iron Mountain and expedite commerce and each organisation had their first round as a fit check round which i’m unable to clear. Can you guys share some tips around it.

A lot of noise around AI taking coding jobs, which i fear might be real. Like not completely but you get my point. So how should one upskill themselves (especially the average folks, top 1/2% will not be affected in any field imo) for the upcoming shift? Like will data analytics/science or maybe ai/ml engineering jobs be on rise ? Should be start upskilling in those fields or any other suggestions? Why is it that some men show too much interest in you for initial few weeks, like asking for ig and then ig messages. Seeing your stories just about the instant you post it. They tell you about their last break up they can't get over with but still tell you that falling in love is the most beautiful part of life and talk about wanting to settle down - until the time you show interests and hola! They suddenly change their verdicts - suddenly they're no more interested. Suddenly they get busy and don't respond to your messages anymore. 
My question to men, what do you seek from a woman when you are looking for some serious engagements. Whom should one trust with attachments?

Role - Cloud Support Engineer

Cleared tech rounds and 2 leadership rounds are remaining. They are going to be for 1 hour each with senior folks holding 20 and 6 years of experience respectively. Will be having such rounds for the first time ever. Not sure what all will be in it for an entire hour! One of them is probably a Bar raiser.

Unlike tech rounds where you have to just keep answering the questions that come your way here it might be the case that I'll have to keep speaking on the scenario in detail for the entire time in STAR format.

I just know that I need to know the meaning of leadership principles correctly and have a real example from my journey. But I might not have experienced such a scenario relating to all principles. So maybe I'll have to make some examples. Also, I'm being told that I shouldn't repeat anything. How to have so many real relatable examples?

Important is to be ready to answer all questions on what I said.

It seems very very tricky to answer them in such a way that it is correct and also convinces them very well.

What would be some good questions to ask interviewers of these rounds?

So basically I don't hesitate in challenging the interviewer if I feel like they don't know how to interview a senior candidate

so during many interviews, this is how I have caught them off guard:

1. The interviewer was asking me technical questions and expecting to explain properly throughout. So at the end i asked him about the tech stack they use, he said Azure. I asked him why they use Azure and not AWS, to which he said "it's cheaper", i didn't let it go, i asked him for a proper technical explanation, his red face was worth seeing.

2. The interview asked me a hard DSA question, and I wasn't able to solve it properly, he didn't even give me enough hints, just expected me to solve it. So halfway I asked him, would you like to solve a DSA if I ask you right now, he said no because it's not his interview. To which I asked, are you afraid that you won't be able to solve? If you are going to reject me for not solving this question, would you resign if you aren't able to solve the question. He ended the call.

3. One interviewer was asking me absurd technical detailed questions. I asked him why are you asking such questions, he said he needs to know my thought process because he will work with me. I started asking him similar questions, he said he won't answer because it's not his interview. I said I also need to know your thought process because we'll work together, so you should also answer these questions, he had no reply.

4. The interviewer asked me about a challenging project that I had done recently. I don't like this question at all. So I said there wasn't any challenging project because I'm good at what I do so it's always easy for me. He moved on to the next question.

5. HR asked me why I resigned without an offer? I asked if it's mandatory? No reply.

Not sure whether this is something to tom-tom about. Talks more about the quality of interviewer & the approach taken by the person.   
  
 To be honest, they're well within their right to ask you a tough question and/or to test your thought process, that's their job. If you get so easily offended, you're probably not going to fit in, in the long term.  
  
 I'm sure there are better ways to communicate that the interviewer is asking you a lame question or there's insufficient information.  
  
 Honestly, I take tons of interviews, an hour spent interviewing is an hour spent not doing actual work and drop in productivity. Doubt if senior people would ever do this to waste 'their' time... (Forget yours). Sensible people wouldn't.  
  
 No offense, but with so many interviews going this way, maybe time to point the mirror the other way...
